Black Knife

Quickstart

1. Get three Black Shards from the Creative inventory, or use /give @s com_black_knife_rbmho4bm:black_shard 3.
2. At a crafting table, turn the shards into a Dark Blade, then combine it with a Nether Star to craft the Black Knife:

1. Hold the Black Knife and use it without sneaking to start X-Slash. Nearby mobs are marked while the attack charges.
2. To parry, sneak while holding the sword and face an incoming attacker. A ready parry blocks a melee hit and starts its delayed counterattack.

The action bar displays the X-Slash and Parry cooldowns while the sword is selected.

Overview

Black Knife is a combat mod built around a powerful sword, a delayed area slash, and a defensive parry. The shard and Dark Blade are crafting materials; the finished sword is the main weapon.

What It Adds

How To Use

• X-Slash: Use the Black Knife while not sneaking. The charge marks nearby mobs; after about five seconds, two slashes strike in quick succession.
• Parry: Sneak with the sword equipped and face the attacker as a hit arrives. A ready melee parry blocks the hit and begins a three-second wind-up before striking a narrow lane in front of you.
• Projectile defense: While sneaking and facing an incoming projectile, the sword blocks the damage, redirects the projectile, and can damage its sender. Projectiles do not start the melee parry.
• Ordinary attacks: Swing the sword normally to deal its melee damage.

Crafting And Obtaining

Black Shards have no crafting recipe listed. Find them in the Creative inventory or use the /give command in a world where you can use commands. Crafting both blades requires a crafting table:

Abilities And Mechanics

• X-Slash targets non-player mobs with health within 10 blocks when activated. They are marked and held in place during the charge. Each of the two delayed slash lines deals 20 damage.
• Parry requires a front-facing melee hit while sneaking. On a successful parry, nearby entities are slowed and affected by darkness during the wind-up; the counterattack hits targets in a forward lane up to five blocks away.
• The default cooldowns are about 65 seconds for X-Slash and three minutes for Parry. Using either ability can also put the other on cooldown; check the action bar for their timers.
• The Black Knife deals 24 damage and has 1,200 durability. Black Shards can repair it. The Dark Blade deals 10 damage and has 400 durability.

Progression And Strategy

Craft the Dark Blade first, then use a Nether Star to make the Black Knife. Try X-Slash when several mobs are within range, and use the red marks to track the charge. For defense, face the threat before sneaking: the stance only blocks hits coming from in front of you.

World admins can open the settings menu with /black_knife_settings. It includes toggles for cooldowns and durability, plus Swoon Mode, which makes attacks and abilities trigger the swoon immediately without normal cooldowns.
