Black Dragon Hexblade

Quickstart

Gather the ingredients below and craft the sword in a crafting table. The recipe is shapeless, so the ingredients can go in any arrangement.

Equip the Black Dragon Hexblade and hit a foe to trigger its effects. Try it against a mob first to see its slowing, poison, and fire effects; hitting a player also briefly prevents them from moving.

Overview

The Black Dragon Hexblade is a dragon-forged melee sword with 9 attack damage. Its hits combine cold-themed slowing, burning, and poison. Against players, hits also cause a short movement lock.

What It Adds

• Black Dragon Hexblade: a sword with 1,561 durability and an enchantability value of 15.

How To Use

Hold the sword and attack a target as you would with a normal melee weapon. Its effects trigger on a successful hit; there is no separate ability button.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Cold: Slows the target for 5 seconds. The effect slows rather than encasing the target in ice.
• Poison: Poisons the target for 8 seconds.
• Fire: Sets the target on fire for 5 seconds.
• Paralysis: When the target is a player, their movement is disabled for about 2 seconds. This movement lock does not apply to other targets.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft it at a crafting table using one each of a diamond sword, black dye, dragon’s breath, blaze powder, packed ice, spider eye, and cobweb. The recipe is shapeless. In Creative mode, look in the Equipment category.
