Amethyst Armor and Tools

Quickstart

1. Collect amethyst shards from amethyst geodes found underground.
2. Open a crafting table and craft any piece of Amethyst armor or a weapon/tool — no special setup required.
3. Equip the armor and use the tools just like vanilla gear.
4. When you're ready to upgrade, craft Amethyst Locks, then a Large Amethyst Crystal, then the Echo Shard Upgrade, and finally combine any amethyst item with the upgrade and an echo shard to create its Echo Shard variant.
5. Wear all four Echo Shard armor pieces at once to continuously receive Fire Resistance, Speed, Resistance, and Strength.

Overview

This mod adds a full set of amethyst-themed gear — four armor pieces and six tools/weapons — crafted entirely from amethyst shards. Every item has netherite-level stats and a purple visual style. A second tier of gear, the Echo Shard variants, can be crafted by upgrading the base amethyst items. Echo Shard gear features dark echo-themed textures, 8,000 durability, faster mining speeds, and a powerful passive armor set bonus.

Amethyst Gear Stats

• Armor protection: Helmet 3, Chestplate 8, Leggings 6, Boots 3 (matches netherite values)
• Weapon damage: Sword and Spear deal 8 damage; Axe deals 8 damage
• Tool durability: 2,031
• Mining speed: 9 (on applicable blocks)
• Repairable at an anvil using amethyst shards

Echo Shard Gear Stats

• Armor protection: Same values as amethyst tier
• Weapon damage: Same as amethyst tier
• Durability: 8,000 for all Echo Shard items
• Mining speed: 12 (faster than amethyst tier)
• Repairable at an anvil using echo shards

Full Echo Shard Armor Set Bonus

Wearing the Echo Shard Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots all at the same time continuously grants the following effects (refreshed automatically, no particles):

• 🔥 Fire Resistance
• 💨 Speed
• 🛡️ Resistance
• ⚔️ Strength

The effects refresh every few seconds while the full set is equipped. Removing any piece cancels all bonuses immediately.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game: Gather amethyst shards from geodes. Craft the full amethyst armor set and a sword or pickaxe as soon as possible — the stats rival netherite and require no nether trip.
2. Mid game: Start stockpiling amethyst shards and iron ingots to craft Amethyst Locks (4 per craft). Brew or find echo shards in the Deep Dark or from Ancient Cities.
3. Upgrade path: Craft a Large Amethyst Crystal (5 amethyst shards), then surround it with 8 Amethyst Locks to make an Echo Shard Upgrade. Combine any amethyst item + Echo Shard Upgrade + echo shard at the crafting table to get the Echo Shard version.
4. End goal: Assemble the complete Echo Shard armor set. The passive set bonus — Fire Resistance, Speed, Resistance, and Strength — permanently active while wearing all four pieces — makes this one of the strongest armor loadouts in the game. Pair it with an Echo Shard Sword or Spear and the 8,000-durability tools for a complete, near-unbreakable kit.
