Description
The Volcanic Dragon Totem is a powerful protective item that automatically saves you from death up to 10 times. Unlike the vanilla Totem of Undying, it works from anywhere in your inventory - no need to hold it in your hand. When you would take lethal damage, the totem activates on its own, restoring you to 1 heart and granting Regeneration II, Absorption II, and Fire Resistance to help you survive the aftermath. Each save consumes one charge, shown by the durability bar, and the totem shatters once all 10 charges are spent.

Overview
The Volcanic Dragon Totem is a powerful survival item that acts as an automatic life insurance policy. Carry it in your inventory and it will silently protect you from death up to 10 times before shattering. Unlike the vanilla Totem of Undying, you never have to hold it in your hand — it works from any inventory slot.
What It Adds
- Volcanic Dragon Totem — a single craftable item found in the Combat tab of the Creative inventory. It has an enchantment glint and a durability bar that tracks remaining charges.
Abilities And Mechanics
When you would take damage that would reduce your health to zero or below, the totem intercepts it automatically:

- The activation sound (the standard totem-use chime) plays so you know it triggered.

- When all 10 charges are spent, the totem shatters and disappears from your inventory.

The totem requires rare, late-game materials, reflecting its exceptional power:

Progression And Strategy
- Craft after defeating the Ender Dragon — the Dragon Head and Nether Stars make this a true end-game item.
- Carry only one at a time; each totem stacks no further than a single item.
- Keep an eye on the durability bar. When it's nearly depleted, craft a replacement before venturing into dangerous situations.
- The Fire Resistance granted on activation is especially useful in the Nether or against Blaze encounters, giving you a window to escape after a near-death experience.
- Because the totem works from any inventory slot, you can keep both hands free for weapons or tools without sacrificing death protection.
