Overview

The Voidbeam Cannon is a rare, magic-infused melee weapon that doubles as a devastating ranged superweapon. Instead of swinging it for damage, you aim it like a bow and unleash a multi-stage ritual: an charging sequence, a streaking beam, a darkened sky, and finally a huge explosive strike of void energy from above.

What It Adds

• Voidbeam Cannon — a one-of-a-kind epic-rarity weapon with a glowing purple glint, wielded in the main hand.
• A scripted firing sequence with its own sounds, particle effects, and a temporary sky-darkening effect.
• A powerful area-of-effect strike capable of leveling terrain and heavily damaging entities caught in the blast.

How To Use

• Equip the Voidbeam Cannon in your main hand.
• Charge: Use the item (hold the use/attack-with-item action as if drawing a bow). While charging, void energy particles swirl around your hand and around the point you're aiming at.
• Aim carefully — the cannon locks onto a target point up to 64 blocks away, based on where you're looking when you start charging.
• Release: After a short charge, the beam fires automatically — you'll see a streak of energy fly toward the target, followed by the sky darkening and a huge beam of light descending from above.
• Impact: The beam slams down with a massive explosion, damaging entities nearby and breaking blocks in the area. Get clear before it lands.
• The weapon has a cooldown between uses, so you can't chain-fire it instantly.
• When simply held (not charging), the cannon gives off a faint magical particle effect, marking it as an enchanted item.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Charging phase: Orbiting void energy appears around your hand and the locked target while you aim. An action bar message shows "Voidbeam lock: charging."
• Firing phase: A beam segment streaks from your hand toward the target, with an action bar message showing "Voidbeam released."
• Sky-beam phase: The sky darkens dramatically, and a towering purple beam (about 70+ blocks tall) descends onto the target point, accompanied by warning text: "The voidbeam tears through the dark sky..."
• Impact: A large explosion occurs at the target (breaking blocks, working underwater), dealing very heavy damage to any entities within roughly a 9-block radius. The sky then returns to normal.
• Durability: The weapon has limited durability and has a chance to take damage each time it's used. It can be repaired with amethyst shards (partial repair) or ender pearls (larger repair).
• Enchanting: The Voidbeam Cannon can be enchanted using bow-related enchantments, which affect its properties like any enchanted item.
• Cooldown: A short cooldown prevents firing the cannon repeatedly without pause.

Progression And Strategy

• Because of its heavy damage and wide explosion radius, the Voidbeam Cannon is best used against tough single targets, groups of enemies, or for large-scale terrain clearing — not for casual combat.
• Keep distance after firing; the explosion radius and knockback from the descending beam can easily catch the user if they linger too close.
• Manage durability over time by carrying amethyst shards or ender pearls for field repairs.
• Since aiming determines the impact point, line up your shot before starting the charge and try to hold your aim steady while the void energy builds up.
