Description
Explore floating islands, dig up buried treasure, and survive the endless void below
Mod Wiki
Void Treasure Isles
Quickstart
- Create a new world (or explore an existing one) and travel until you find a strange biome of floating islands hanging in open sky.
- Look below the islands — there is nothing but open void, so bring blocks to place under you or a way to avoid fatal falls.
- Land on an island and dig around; a buried chest is hidden just beneath the surface of certain islands.
- Open the chest to collect emeralds, gold ingots, and ender pearls.
- Keep exploring outward — islands repeat across the world in a scattered pattern, each one worth checking for hidden loot.
Overview
Void Treasure Isles replaces ordinary terrain in a special biome with clusters of floating stone-and-dirt islands suspended over a bottomless void. There is no ground beneath these islands down to deep bedrock level — only air. Scattered among the islands are buried treasure chests filled with valuable loot, encouraging exploration and careful digging rather than mining through solid stone.
This is a natural Overworld biome: you don't need a portal, item, or command to reach it. Simply travel until world generation leads you into it, or use world tools to search it out.
What It Adds
- Void Treasure Isles biome — A rare Overworld biome made almost entirely of small, disconnected floating islands with grass, dirt, and stone layers, surrounded by empty void air instead of normal terrain.
- Buried treasure chests — Each island cluster has a chance to contain a chest buried just under its surface.
- Treasure loot — Chests contain valuable Overworld resources:
- 3–7 Emeralds
- 2–5 Gold Ingots
- 1–3 Ender Pearls
How To Use
- Finding the biome: The islands generate as part of natural Overworld world generation in temperate, inland climate zones. Explore widely, or use a map/locate tool for the biome, referenced internally as
void_treasure_isles. - Traversing safely: Since the space beneath island clusters is completely empty down to deep negative elevations, always carry blocks (like dirt or scaffolding) to place safety platforms, or bring water buckets/feather-falling gear before jumping between islands.
- Digging for treasure: Chests are hidden a couple of blocks below the topsoil near the center of many islands. Dig down carefully once you're standing on solid ground — breaking through the grass and dirt layer will often reveal a chest nearby.
- Looting: Break the chest or open it in place to collect its contents. Chests are single-use once looted, so move on to the next island afterward.
Progression And Strategy
- Treat each island as a small isolated puzzle: land safely, search the immediate area, and dig a short distance to find the buried chest before moving to the next island.
- Because falling off an island can drop you into the void indefinitely, prioritize obtaining blocks and fall-prevention gear (elytra, water buckets, or a stack of throwaway blocks) before island-hopping.
- The materials found in chests — emeralds, gold, and ender pearls — are useful for trading, gearing up, and crafting tools like Ender Pearls for teleportation, making these islands a worthwhile detour during exploration or a dedicated "treasure hunting" playstyle.
