Void Echo Orb

Quickstart

1. Gather an amethyst shard, echo shard, obsidian, and ender pearl.
2. Use a crafting table to make the Void Echo Orb:

1. Hold the orb in your main hand and look at an entity within 32 blocks. The orb automatically strikes valid entities in your view.
2. Use or attack with the orb to trigger its void echo immediately.
3. If no entity is in your line of sight, aim at a block and use the orb to create portal effects and an echoing sound at that location.

You can also spawn it directly with:

/give @s com_void_echo_orb_6m5pot2z:my_sword 1

Overview

The Void Echo Orb is a one-handed, unstackable weapon that channels a short-range void effect through your line of sight. It can damage and hinder targets, mark blocks with portal effects, and be used as a melee weapon.

What It Adds

• Void Echo Orb — A custom weapon with:
  • 5 damage as a melee weapon
  • 256 durability
  • Sword enchantment compatibility
  • Main-hand and off-hand support
  • Automatic targeting within 32 blocks
  • Portal particles and echoing sounds on entities and blocks

How To Use

Targeting Entities

Hold the orb in your main hand and look at an entity within 32 blocks. The orb checks the direction you are looking approximately four times per second. Each valid entity in your view is affected, except for you.

Affected entities receive:

• 2 points of magic damage
• Weakness for 2 seconds
• Darkness for 1 second
• Portal particles and an echoing orb sound

You can also trigger the effect by:

• Using the orb while aiming at an entity
• Hitting an entity with the orb

Targeting Blocks

When no entity is in your line of sight, aim at a block within 32 blocks and use the orb. The block produces two delayed bursts of portal particles and sound.

Mining a block with the orb produces three bursts instead.

The orb can target liquid blocks when you aim at them.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Void Echo Orb at a crafting table using amethyst shards, echo shards, obsidian, and an ender pearl:

There is one orb per crafting result. In Creative mode, it is available in the equipment section of the inventory.

For commands, use:

/give @s com_void_echo_orb_6m5pot2z:my_sword 1

Abilities And Mechanics

The automatic effect only works while the orb is held in the main hand. Looking at an entity takes priority over block targeting.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the orb from a distance to weaken dangerous mobs before engaging them.
• Keep your crosshair on a target to repeatedly apply damage and status effects.
• Take advantage of Weakness when fighting strong melee enemies.
• Use Darkness to disrupt an enemy briefly before repositioning.
• When no enemy is available, use the orb on nearby blocks for its portal-like visual and sound effects.
• Enchant the orb like a sword to improve its combat potential.
