Quickstart

1. Gather a diamond pickaxe, a cobblestone, and a netherite ingot — craft them together at a crafting table to get the Vein Miner Pickaxe.
2. Equip it to your hotbar, find an ore vein underground, and mine a single ore block. Watch the entire connected vein break automatically.
3. For trees, craft the Tree Miner Axe (see below), equip it, and chop the bottom log of any tree. All connected logs and nearby leaves will fall at once.

No commands or special setup required — just craft, equip, and mine.

Overview

Vein Miner Tree Miner adds two custom tools that automate the most repetitive parts of mining and woodcutting. Break one ore block and the pickaxe hunts down every adjacent matching ore. Chop one log and the axe fells the entire tree, leaves included. Both tools are powerful late-game items requiring netherite to craft and drop all resources normally.

Crafting And Obtaining

Vein Miner Pickaxe

Combine a diamond pickaxe, cobblestone, and a netherite ingot at a crafting table (shapeless — any order).

Tree Miner Axe

Combine a diamond axe, an oak log, and a netherite ingot at a crafting table (shapeless — any order).

Both recipes are unlocked automatically once you have all three ingredients.

Abilities And Mechanics

Vein Miner Pickaxe

• Mine any ore block and the pickaxe automatically detects every connected matching ore in the vein.
• Works on all standard ores as well as any block whose name ends in _ore.
• Connected blocks are broken in batches over multiple ticks so the game stays smooth.
• All drops are collected normally, just as if you mined each block by hand.
• The pickaxe supports enchanting (enchantability 15, pickaxe slot), so you can add Fortune or Silk Touch for enhanced drops across the whole vein.

Tree Miner Axe

• Chop any log and the axe finds every connected log (including wood, stems, and hyphae from any tree type) and removes them.
• Nearby leaves attached to the tree are also broken automatically.
• Like the pickaxe, block breaking is spread over ticks to keep performance healthy.
• All wood and leaf drops are collected normally.

Shared Behavior

• Durability depletes by 1 for every block broken (including vein/chain blocks), so large veins and tall trees will wear the tool down faster.
• Both tools behave exactly like their vanilla counterparts for normal single-block use — the chain-break only triggers on the appropriate block types.
• A brief on-screen message may appear confirming the vein or tree miner has activated.

Progression And Strategy

• Both tools require netherite, making them a post-Nether reward. Prioritize getting netherite before crafting.
• The Vein Miner Pickaxe excels in the deep-slate layer where diamond, ancient debris, and other ores cluster in veins — one swing can clear an entire deposit.
• Enchant the pickaxe with Fortune III before mining diamond or emerald veins to multiply your haul from a single activation.
• Silk Touch on the pickaxe lets you collect ore blocks directly, ideal for XP farming later in a furnace.
• Use the Tree Miner Axe to rapidly clear forests for large building projects — a single chop per tree clears it completely, including leaves.
• Keep a spare netherite ingot and the base diamond tool handy; with 2031 durability a single tool lasts a long time, but heavy vein mining will eventually wear it out.
