Description
A handheld Triple Barrel Minigun appears in your hotbar with nine spinning barrels that visibly spin up and, when you right-click and hold, fire tagged vanilla arrows every tick with no cooldown—each arrow deals 4 damage and flies like a normal arrow. Release right-click (or switch items) to stop firing immediately; arrows are tagged as minigun shots for interactions and any arrows that land and stop moving will despawn after two seconds to prevent lag.

Triple Barrel Minigun
Quickstart
- Craft the Nine-Barrel Minigun at a crafting table:

- Place it in your hotbar and hold it in your hand.
- Hold right-click to begin spinning up the nine barrels — a progress bar appears on screen counting to 100%.
- After about 1.5 seconds of spin-up, the gun opens fire automatically, unleashing a continuous stream of arrows for as long as you hold right-click.
- Release right-click (or switch to another item) to stop firing instantly.
Overview
The Nine-Barrel Minigun is a single, powerful ranged weapon that fires vanilla arrows at an extremely high rate of fire — one full nine-arrow volley every game tick with no cooldown. It is a rare, enchantable item with a spear-style hold animation, a glowing enchantment sheen, and a custom firing sound. Its high output makes it one of the most aggressive ranged options available, but it requires a brief spin-up before it starts shooting.

Abilities And Mechanics
Spin-Up
Holding right-click does not fire immediately. The barrels must spin up over 30 ticks (~1.5 seconds). An action bar message shows the spin-up percentage. Once fully spun up, the gun fires continuously.
Firing
- Fires 9 arrows per tick while right-click is held.
- Each arrow deals 4 damage on hit, regardless of flight distance or arc.
- Arrows travel at high speed in the direction you are looking.
- A custom sound plays with every volley, with a slight random pitch variation.
- While firing, you receive a brief Speed effect as visual feedback.
Stopping
Releasing right-click or switching away from the item immediately stops firing. If you switch away and back quickly (within ~8 ticks), the spin state resets and you must spin up again.
Arrow Cleanup
Arrows that land and stop moving are automatically removed after 2 seconds (40 ticks). This prevents arrow buildup from causing performance issues during extended firing sessions.
Movement
Holding the minigun slows your movement to half speed, reflecting the weapon's weight.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Nine-Barrel Minigun is crafted at a standard crafting table. The recipe unlocks automatically once you have iron ingots, observers, redstone, and sticks in your inventory.
The item does not stack, so you can only carry one per inventory slot. It has 1561 durability and can be enchanted using the sword enchantment pool (enchantability 10).
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: The minigun is accessible relatively early since it only requires iron, redstone, observers, and sticks — no rare materials needed.
- Mob control: The nine-arrows-per-tick rate makes it extremely effective against groups of mobs. Aim into a crowd and the volley spread will hit multiple targets.
- Spin-up timing: Always initiate spin-up before engaging enemies. Enemies can close the gap during the 1.5-second wind-up.
- Arrow cleanup: Spent arrows vanish after 2 seconds, so you do not need to worry about performance during long fights.
- Enchanting: The minigun accepts sword-slot enchantments, so consider adding durability-preserving enchantments to extend its lifespan given the high rate of fire.
- Movement penalty: Plan your position before firing — your movement speed is halved while the minigun is in hand, making repositioning difficult mid-volley.
