Thunder Mace

Quickstart

1. Gather Lightning Rods, a Netherite Block, and a Blaze Rod.
2. Craft the Thunder Mace at a Crafting Table using the recipe below.
3. Equip it in your hand and hit any mob or player — watch them get blasted skyward by a thunderstrike.

Overview

The Thunder Mace is an epic-rarity melee weapon that combines crushing base damage with a devastating on-hit effect: a lightning strike, a booming thunder sound, massive bonus damage, and an enormous knockback launch. It is one of the most powerful single-hit weapons available, capable of sending targets flying across the landscape in a single swing.

What It Adds

The weapon appears in the Equipment tab of the creative inventory and counts as a sword for enchanting purposes.

Abilities And Mechanics

Every successful hit triggers a chain of effects:

• Lightning Strike — A lightning bolt spawns directly on the target, dealing fire damage and the visual/audio impact of a thunderstrike.
• Thunder Sound — A loud, low-pitched thunder crack plays at the impact point.
• Bonus Damage — On top of the base 24 damage, the mace deals an additional ~50% of the target's maximum health as extra damage. This makes it extremely lethal against high-health enemies.
• Massive Knockback — The primary target is launched horizontally away from the attacker with extreme force and a strong upward pop, sending them very high and far.
• Shockwave — Any other entities standing at the same block location as the target are also blasted outward from the impact point (at roughly half the force of the primary knockback).

Note: The bonus damage and knockback only trigger when the hit actually connects and registers an effect. Swinging through the air does nothing special.

Progression And Strategy

• The Thunder Mace is a late-game weapon. Crafting it requires Netherite (via Netherite Blocks) and Blaze Rods from the Nether, plus Lightning Rods.
• Against bosses and high-health mobs (like the Warden or Ender Dragon), the 50% max-health bonus damage is enormous — a single hit can remove half an enemy's health bar.
• In PvP, the massive knockback can fling players off cliffs, out of arenas, or into environmental hazards. Position yourself near drops for maximum effect.
• The weapon is enchantable as a sword, so Sharpness, Looting, Knockback, and Fire Aspect all stack on top of its built-in effects for even greater devastation.

Crafting And Obtaining

Repair options (at an Anvil):

The Thunder Mace cannot be stacked and does not break blocks in Creative mode. Its enchantability value is 10 (similar to iron-tier tools), so mid-tier enchant rolls are typical on an enchanting table.
