Stygian Essence Blade

Quickstart

1. Obtain the crafting recipe when you join the world, or find the Stygian Essence Blade in the Combat creative inventory.
2. Gather the required materials and craft the blade:

1. Equip it in your main hand or off-hand.
2. Attack a hostile mob. Successful hits apply damaging and slowing effects to the target while restoring your health.
3. For a shadow burst, sneak and use the blade—通常 right-click while crouching. The burst damages nearby hostile mobs and blinds them.
4. The shadow burst has a 15-second cooldown.

Overview

The Stygian Essence Blade is a single-item combat weapon built from netherite-tier materials. It combines sword attacks with life-draining effects and a short-range area ability.

How To Use

Standard Attacks

Attack a mob with the blade to trigger its essence-draining effects:

• The target receives Slowness IV for 4 seconds.
• The target receives Wither III for 4 seconds.
• You receive Regeneration II for 4 seconds.

These effects activate when a player hits a mob. Each successful hit uses 1 durability.

Shadow Burst

To unleash the blade’s area attack:

1. Hold the Stygian Essence Blade.
2. Sneak or crouch.
3. Use the item, usually with right-click.
4. Hostile mobs close to you take 6 damage and receive Blindness for 5 seconds.

The burst affects nearby hostile mobs within approximately 4 blocks. It does not target the player or non-hostile creatures. Dark particles and an ominous sound mark the activation.

The ability cannot be activated again until its 15-second cooldown finishes. Using the blade normally does not trigger this cooldown.

Crafting And Obtaining

The blade is crafted from crying obsidian, a nether star, a netherite sword, and a blaze rod:

The crafting recipe is supplied automatically when you join a world. In Creative mode, the blade is also available in the Combat inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

The shadow burst only activates while sneaking. A normal item use without sneaking does not trigger the ability.

Progression And Strategy

The blade requires late-game Nether materials, including a nether star and netherite sword, so it is best suited to advanced combat.

• Use normal attacks against individual mobs to keep Regeneration active.
• Sneak before using the shadow burst so you can clear groups of hostile mobs.
• Save the burst for surrounded situations or dense groups of enemies.
• Let the cooldown finish before relying on the area attack again.
• Because every hit consumes durability, bring replacement equipment or repair supplies for extended battles.
