Stronghold Rider

Quickstart

1. Gather the materials and craft a Stronghold Rider: .
2. Place it in an open area. Placing the main block automatically builds the complete Stronghold Rider assembly from its Stronghold Rider Part blocks.
3. Right-click any part of the assembled rider. You will mount it automatically, and it will teleport you and the vehicle to the nearest stronghold the game can find in the current dimension.
4. Fly the rider with WASD. Use Space to ascend and Shift to descend.
5. Press your Sprint key to dismount. The rider remains parked at the stronghold and can be mounted again by right-clicking it.

The camera switches to third-person view while riding, and your player model is hidden so you can see the vehicle clearly.

Overview

Stronghold Rider is a rideable flying vehicle designed to take you directly to a stronghold. Its placed structure acts as a launch pad: activating any part of it consumes the structure, creates the vehicle, mounts you, and performs the teleport.

After arriving, the vehicle remains in the world instead of disappearing. You can dismount, leave it parked, and return to it later.

What It Adds

• Stronghold Rider — the craftable main block and item.
• Stronghold Rider Part — supporting blocks that form the assembled rider.
• Rideable vehicle — a no-gravity vehicle with direct flight controls.
• Stronghold destination activation — sends the rider and its passenger to the nearest available stronghold.

How To Use

Build the rider

Place the Stronghold Rider item on a suitable block or in an open area. The remaining Stronghold Rider Parts are placed automatically around the main block when there is room.

For the most reliable setup, place it where the surrounding positions are clear and replaceable.

Activate the rider

Right-click the main block or any connected Stronghold Rider Part. You do not need to target a particular part, and activation works whether your hand is empty or holding an item.

Activation:

• Converts the assembled structure into a rideable vehicle.
• Mounts the player who activated it.
• Searches for the nearest stronghold in the current dimension.
• Teleports both the player and vehicle to the stronghold.
• Removes the placed rider structure.

If no stronghold can be found in the current dimension, you receive a message saying so. The vehicle remains at the activation location instead of teleporting.

Mount and dismount

Right-click the parked vehicle to mount it. Press your Sprint key to dismount; Shift is used for descending while you are riding. A normal dismount leaves the vehicle in the world and allows it to be mounted again.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is automatically unlocked when you join a world. Craft one Stronghold Rider in a crafting table using an Ender Eye, obsidian, a minecart, iron ingots, and a saddle.

In Creative mode, search the item list for Stronghold Rider.

Abilities And Mechanics

Flight controls

Forward movement is faster than sideways or reverse movement. The rider has no gravity, but it gently loses altitude when neither ascent nor descent is being held.

Flight display

While mounted, a display appears across the top of the screen:

• SPD — current movement speed
• HDG — current heading in degrees
• ALT — current altitude

The camera automatically changes to third-person view while riding and returns to your previous camera mode after you dismount.

Recovering a vehicle

The vehicle is not pushable, but it can be attacked. Attacking it ejects its passenger, removes the vehicle, and drops one Stronghold Rider item for recovery.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the Stronghold Rider when you want to reach a stronghold without following Eyes of Ender across the Overworld.
• Build it in an open location so the complete multi-part structure can form correctly.
• After teleporting, dismount near the stronghold and leave the vehicle parked as a reusable return point.
• Use the altitude controls to clear terrain and adjust your approach before exploring the stronghold.
• Keep the vehicle safe if you plan to use it as a transport point; attacking it converts it back into a portable Stronghold Rider item.
