Stonegaze Warden

Quickstart

1. Open your Creative inventory and search for Stonegaze Warden to find its spawn egg (also visible in the Spawn Eggs group).
2. Use the spawn egg on any block to summon a Stonegaze Warden, or find one naturally roaming the Overworld.
3. Look directly at it — it will freeze in place, unable to act.
4. Look away for even a moment and watch it snap into action: it will yank you toward itself and start hurling blocks at you.
5. Keep your eyes on it to lock it down while you fight, or retreat and reposition carefully to avoid its pulls and thrown debris.

Overview

The Stonegaze Warden is a hostile mob styled after a crumbling stone guardian. It behaves like the Warden it's inspired by in one key way: your gaze is its weakness. As long as a player is looking directly at it, the Warden is completely frozen and harmless. The instant nobody is watching, it becomes a fast, aggressive threat that drags players closer and pelts them with blocks torn from the ground.

What It Adds

• Stonegaze Warden — a large hostile mob (roughly warden-sized, built from an oversized zombie frame with a dirt/granite/stone texture) that spawns naturally in Overworld biomes.
• Stonegaze Warden Spawn Egg — found in the Spawn Eggs creative tab, used to summon the mob on demand.

How To Use

• Freezing it: Stare directly at the Warden from within about 28 blocks and it will stop attacking, pulling, and throwing. This is your window to approach, retreat, or plan.
• Triggering its rage: The moment you (or any nearby player) look away, it resumes its abilities and begins closing distance aggressively.
• Surviving its attacks: It has very high health, heavy attack damage, high knockback resistance, and a long detection range, so plan encounters carefully rather than trying to tank hits head-on.
• Multiplayer note: Because freezing only requires one player to be looking at it, coordinating with allies can keep it locked down while others maneuver.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for this mod. Obtain the Stonegaze Warden by:

• Encountering one that spawns naturally in the Overworld, or
• Using its spawn egg from the Spawn Eggs creative tab to place one manually.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Gaze Freeze: While being watched by a nearby player, the Warden takes no aggressive action at all — no pulling, no throwing, no closing distance.
• Gravity Pull: When not being watched, it periodically yanks every nearby player toward itself with a strong pulling force, accompanied by a low sonic rumble. This closes distance fast and can be dangerous near ledges or hazards.
• Block Volley: When not being watched, it periodically grabs blocks from the ground near itself and launches two of them in a volley at its target, punctuated by a heavy impact sound.
• Aggression: It actively hunts the nearest player and will retaliate against anyone who strikes it.
• Warden-like presence: Its death sound and footsteps echo the deep, ominous tones of a true Warden, even though its abilities and behavior are entirely its own.

Progression And Strategy

• Approach with a plan: since it's frozen while watched, a coordinated group can have one player "hold" its gaze while others flank or strike.
• Watch your footing — the pull ability can drag you into lava, off cliffs, or into other danger zones, so fight in open, safe terrain when possible.
• Its high health and damage make it a serious threat for a solo, poorly-equipped player; strong armor and healing support are recommended for a straight fight.
• Defeating it rewards a solid amount of experience, making it a worthwhile target for players looking for a challenging mob encounter in Creative or Survival testing.
