Quickstart

Craft the Shadowx Sword using a netherite ingot, an echo shard, and a stick.
Equip the sword in your hand.
Strike any mob or player with it — on a successful hit, the target is cloaked in shadow and blinded.
Keep swinging! Every hit refreshes the effects, keeping enemies disoriented while you finish the fight.

Overview

The Shadowx Sword is a rare, dark-themed melee weapon forged from netherite and echo shards. Beyond dealing strong damage, it carries an eerie enchantment: every creature it strikes is briefly turned invisible like a living shadow and plunged into blinding darkness, making it a powerful tool for ambushes, PvP, and crowd control.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Shadowx Sword is crafted at a crafting table:

It requires a netherite ingot, an echo shard, and a stick arranged in the standard sword pattern. Since it uses a netherite ingot, you'll need to have progressed far enough to obtain netherite from the Nether, along with an echo shard gathered from the Deep Dark biome.

Abilities And Mechanics

Damage: Deals solid melee damage (comparable to a top-tier sword) and benefits from enchantments like Sharpness or Fire Aspect.
Shadow Cloak (on hit): Whenever the sword strikes an entity, that target:
- Turns invisible for a few seconds, vanishing from sight without the usual shimmering particles.
- Is afflicted with Darkness, obscuring their vision much like being caught in a Warden's attack.
Durability: Has high durability that can wear down with use, and can be repaired using diamonds.
Efficiency: Cuts through cobwebs notably faster than a normal sword.
Enchanting: Fully enchantable at a swordsmith's enchanting level, so you can stack on additional effects like Looting or Knockback.

Progression And Strategy

Use the shadow-blinding effect to disengage from tough fights — an invisible, blinded enemy struggles to track or retaliate against you.
Great for ambush tactics in PvP: land the first hit and your opponent will have trouble seeing or aiming back.
Pair with speed or invisibility potions of your own to fully vanish from a fight after landing the initial strike.
Keep diamonds on hand to repair the sword between encounters, since its durability will steadily deplete with heavy use.
