Shadow Lucky Block

Quickstart

1. Craft a Shadow Lucky Block using the recipe below (or note that you automatically receive the recipe unlocked in your recipe book upon joining the world).
2. Place the block anywhere you like.
3. Break it with a pickaxe (it requires one, like stone) and stand back — it always drops a reward, and some rewards are dangerous.
4. Check your feet/inventory for loot, or run if you hear roaring — you might have just released a boss.

Overview

The Shadow Lucky Block is a single mysterious block that replaces ordinary "break for a surprise" gameplay with high-stakes gambling. Every time one is broken, something happens — from useful gear and cursed weapons to a full ambush encounter, or even an Ender Dragon appearing out of nowhere. It's built for players who want big risks and big rewards rather than predictable loot.

What It Adds

• Shadow Lucky Block – a tough, amethyst-like block that must be mined with a pickaxe and delivers a random outcome when broken.
• Cursed Sword Set – four unique Netherite-tier swords, each with a special on-hit effect, obtainable only from the block.
• Void Sword – an extremely powerful, high-durability sword with a jailing ability.
• Void Bow – a multi-shot bow that blinds targets.
• Shadow Armor Set – a four-piece armor set with strong defensive and buffing bonuses.
• Shadow Shrine – a rare guarded structure that can spawn as a reward, complete with hostile defenders wearing Shadow armor.

How To Use

Placing And Breaking

Place the Shadow Lucky Block like any normal block. It has high blast resistance and hardness, and needs at least a stone pickaxe to mine. When it breaks, the outcome is decided instantly and randomly — there's no way to predict or control what you'll get, so treat every block as a gamble.

Weapons

• The four cursed swords (Emberfang, Stormpiercer, Rift Cleaver, Soulreaper) hit extremely hard and each apply a unique effect to whatever they strike:
  • Emberfang Sword — sets the target ablaze.
  • Stormpiercer Sword — heavily slows the target.
  • Rift Cleaver — weakens the target's attack power.
  • Soulreaper Sword — heals you (the attacker) when you land a hit.
• The Void Sword deals massive melee damage. Right-click it near another player to instantly trap the nearest one in a small obsidian jail cell, with a cooldown before it can be used again. Simply holding it grants you Health Boost and Speed buffs.
• The Void Bow fires five arrows in a spread pattern with each shot, all of which blind whatever they hit. It has a short cooldown between shots and consumes some durability per use.

Armor

Wearing any Shadow armor piece grants a passive buff as long as it stays equipped:

The full set offers very high armor and toughness, comparable to top-tier vanilla protection, plus knockback resistance.

The Shadow Shrine

One of the rarer outcomes of breaking the block is the sudden appearance of a compact shrine structure nearby — an obsidian-and-amethyst platform surrounded by pedestals holding more Shadow Lucky Blocks. It's guarded by armored Vindicators, a helmeted Wither Skeleton, and an Evoker wearing Shadow Leggings, so be ready for a fight if you want to loot the extra blocks.

The Nightmare Outcome

On rare occasions, breaking the block instead summons a full Ender Dragon at the location — a serious threat with no warning, so always keep your guard up before mining one.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Shadow Lucky Block with obsidian, black dye, and a purpur block:

All other items — the cursed swords, Void Sword, Void Bow, and the full Shadow armor set — cannot be crafted. They can only be obtained as random drops when a Shadow Lucky Block is broken.

Progression And Strategy

• Because outcomes are entirely random, treat each Shadow Lucky Block as a gamble — bring backup weapons and armor before breaking one, in case you trigger the dragon or shrine encounters.
• Farming multiple Shadow Lucky Blocks (via the craft recipe) increases your odds of eventually collecting the full cursed sword and Shadow armor sets.
• The Shadow Shrine is a good target once you're geared up, since defeating its guardians rewards you with more lucky blocks to break.
• Keep the Void Sword's jailing ability in mind for PvP situations — it can trap a nearby player in obsidian, giving you a tactical advantage.
