Overlords
Quickstart
Craft Johyr’s Summoning Sigil from four amethyst shards, four ender pearls, and an Ender Eye:

Use the sigil from your hand to travel to the Lunar Altar. If it is your first visit, the ruins assemble in stages; wait for the arena-complete message, then face Johyr, Prophet of End. Move off purple floor marks and out of the path of aiming rays. After defeating Johyr, enter the crescent gate outside the arena to return to the Overworld.
For a direct sandbox encounter, use Johyr’s Spawn Egg. The crafted sigil is the route to the Lunar Altar fight.
Overview
Overlords is a boss-battle mod with arenas, a boss journal, and rewards you can claim after victories. The journal covers Gyst, Ogrok, Johyr, and the Redstone Siege Creeper. Their battles call for watching attack warnings and moving out of danger.
What It Adds
| Boss or arena | How to encounter it | Journal reward |
|---|---|---|
| Gyst, Lord of Pain | Use Gyst’s Ribcage Arena Keystone to build his arena and begin the fight. | Rune Heart |
| Ogrok, Solitary Titan | Use Ogrok’s Lost Jungle Arena Keystone to build his pit. An Ogrok Spawn Egg is available for direct spawning. | Titan’s Gland |
| Johyr, Prophet of End | Use Johyr’s Summoning Sigil to reach the Lunar Altar. | Runic Eye |
| Redstone Siege Creeper | Use its Summoning Core to summon it ahead of you at the surface. | Charged Redstone Core |
The Tacit’s Silent Thicket Keystone can build the thicket, but Tacit does not have an encounter there.
How To Use
- Boss Journal: Craft it and use it to read boss histories and attack tips. Select a boss to check its medal and reward status; after defeating that boss, claim its reward from the journal.
- Arena Keystones: Use Gyst’s or Ogrok’s keystone from your hand in a suitable open area. Gyst’s keystone starts his encounter; Ogrok’s builds the pit but does not start a boss fight.
- Siege Summoning Core: Use it to summon the Redstone Siege Creeper on the surface a short distance ahead of you.
- Charging Siege-Orb: Hold Use to charge, then release to launch yourself forward and upward. The landing creates a damaging impact. Carrying the orb protects you from fall damage.
- Runic Eye: Use it to fire several volleys of projectiles at nearby hostile mobs.
- Staff of Pain: Aim at a block and use the staff to unleash a rune burst and missiles around that point.

Abilities And Mechanics
Johyr’s attacks have visible tells:
- Void Eruption: A purple mark warns where the ground will erupt. Leave the marked spot.
- Prophet’s Rays: Johyr channels and locks a ray onto a point. Move away from the warned path before it fires.
- Chains of Mephisto: Low, linked chains sweep across the plaza. Jump over the blades.
- Moon Devastation: Johyr sends out a sustained shard barrage; some shards aim toward you. Keep moving, and watch for the shards to return after Johyr’s staff attack.
Progression And Strategy
Read the Boss Journal before an encounter for attack-specific guidance. During fights, prioritize the warning marks and attack lanes over standing still to deal damage.
Gyst’s red floor marks warn of rune bursts, while a red line previews his charge. Ogrok’s dust trail shows his charge lane; create distance when he winds up for a slam, and leave marked spots before emerald spires rise. Against the Redstone Siege Creeper, keep moving through aimed blasts and leave its landing area when it leaps. After each victory, return to the Journal to claim that boss’s reward.
