Mod Wiki
Overcharge Guardian Armor
Quickstart
Craft a Guardian helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, and a power cell, then equip the armor pieces whose powers you want to use. Each piece starts fully charged.
- Boots: Double-tap Jump to start or stop flying, using Minecraft’s normal flight controls.
- Chestplate: Aim at a mob and press R to fire a laser.
- Helmet: Aim at a nearby mob and press G to grab it; press G again to throw it.
- Leggings: Press H to restore health.
- Recharge: Hold a power cell and use it. One cell recharges every worn Guardian armor piece that isn’t already full.
The default power keys can be changed in the Controls menu. In Creative mode, find the armor and power cell in the Combat inventory tab.
Overview
Guardian armor is late-game equipment built around four separate powers. You don’t need the full set to use a power: equip the matching piece. Each piece has its own charge reserve, up to 100, and power cells refill the pieces you’re wearing.
What It Adds
| Piece | Power |
|---|---|
| Guardian Power Helmet | Grab and throw mobs |
| Guardian Laser Chestplate | Fire a ranged laser |
| Guardian Medic Leggings | Heal yourself |
| Guardian Thruster Boots | Fly while charged |
| Guardian Power Cell | Recharge worn Guardian armor |
How To Use
Press the power key while wearing its matching armor piece. Aiming powers require a clear line of sight to a mob.
You can check the remaining charge in the on-screen messages after using a power. If a piece doesn’t have enough charge, use a power cell and try again.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the pieces at a crafting table. The recipes use Netherite ingots and Nether Stars, with Diamonds for the helmet, chestplate, and boots. Power cells use Redstone Blocks, a Netherite Ingot, and a Diamond.
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Guardian Thruster Boots | 4 Netherite Ingots, 1 Nether Star, 1 Diamond — |
| Guardian Laser Chestplate | 6 Netherite Ingots, 1 Nether Star, 1 Diamond — |
| Guardian Power Helmet | 3 Netherite Ingots, 1 Nether Star, 1 Diamond — |
| Guardian Medic Leggings | 7 Netherite Ingots, 1 Nether Star — |
| Guardian Power Cell | 5 Redstone Blocks, 1 Netherite Ingot, 1 Diamond — |
Abilities And Mechanics
- Flight — Guardian Thruster Boots: While the boots have charge, they grant flight. Flying drains 1 charge per second. At zero charge, flight ends.
- Laser — Guardian Laser Chestplate (R): Hits a mob up to 24 blocks away, dealing 9 damage and setting it on fire briefly. Costs 15 charge.
- Grab / Throw — Guardian Power Helmet (G): Grab a mob within 8 blocks for 10 charge. Press G again to throw it for 5 charge. A thrown mob can damage another mob it collides with.
- Medical Pulse — Guardian Medic Leggings (H): Restores 3 hearts for 8 charge. It can’t be used at full health.
Progression And Strategy
Save power cells for the armor powers you rely on most. A cell refills all worn Guardian pieces below full charge, so wearing several charged pieces makes each cell go further. Keep an eye on boot charge during long flights, and recharge before using the laser or medical pulse repeatedly.
