Orbital Angler orbital strike

Description

The Orbital Angler is a powerful weapon disguised as a fishing rod — right-click while aiming to call down five TNT minecarts from roughly 50 blocks above; they rain down with a dramatic strike sound and explode on impact, consuming durability and imposing a 3-second cooldown between uses. The bombardment is now much less precise: minecarts spawn across a roughly 20-block diameter and have stronger horizontal motion for a wider, more scattered strike, making it great for area denial rather than pinpoint demolition—use it wisely.

Overview

The Orbital Angler looks like a fishing rod, but it is anything but peaceful. Right-clicking calls down 12 TNT minecarts from roughly 50 blocks above your target, each one exploding on impact with the force of a powerful TNT blast. The minecarts scatter across a roughly 20-block diameter, making every strike a wide, chaotic bombardment rather than a surgical hit. It's a weapon of area denial and mass destruction — use it with care.

What It Adds

ItemDescription
Orbital AnglerA single-use-style weapon disguised as a fishing rod. Calls down an orbital TNT minecart strike on right-click. Found in the Combat creative tab.

How To Use

  • Hold the Orbital Angler in your hand.
  • Right-click while aiming at a block or area. The minecarts spawn ~50 blocks above the targeted point (up to ~60 blocks with random height variation).
  • If no block is detected in your line of sight, the strike lands roughly 30 blocks in front of you at your level.
  • Each minecart falls with slight horizontal drift, spreading the impact across a wide zone.
  • A strike sound plays for everyone nearby when you fire.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world. Craft it at a crafting table:

The Orbital Angler also appears in the Combat creative tab for easy access in creative mode.

Progression And Strategy

  • Area denial: The wide scatter pattern makes the Orbital Angler excellent for clearing large groups of mobs or denying zones rather than targeting single enemies.
  • Friendly fire risk: The 20-block spread and powerful explosions can easily catch you or your structures in the blast. Fire from a safe distance and elevated positions when possible.
  • Resource cost: Crafting requires TNT minecarts, a blaze rod, a netherite ingot, and a fishing rod — a mid-to-late Nether progression investment that reflects its raw power.
  • Durability management: With only 64 uses, reserve the Orbital Angler for large-scale encounters or sieges rather than routine fights.
