Obsidian Shock Mace

Quickstart

1. Craft the Obsidian Shock Mace at a crafting table:

1. Equip it in your hand.
2. Press the use/interact button to unleash a shockwave around yourself.
3. Try it near a group of hostile mobs, then wait 15 seconds before using the shockwave again.

In Creative mode, find the mace in the Equipment category, or use:

/give @s com_obsidian_shock_mace_rcz43lqj:my_sword

Overview

The Obsidian Shock Mace is a heavy melee weapon that combines strong attacks with a short-range shockwave ability. Its shockwave damages and slows nearby entities while leaving the wielder unharmed.

How To Use

Melee Attacks

Equip the mace and attack entities normally. It deals 12 damage per melee hit.

Shockwave

With the mace equipped, press the use/interact button. The shockwave:

• Is centered on your current position.
• Reaches entities within 2.5 blocks.
• Deals 6 damage.
• Applies Slowness II for 2 seconds.
• Does not damage the player who activates it.
• Produces a sonic explosion effect and explosion sound.

The ability can be used once every 15 seconds. The cooldown applies separately to each player or entity using a mace.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the mace at a crafting table using:

• 3 Obsidian
• 1 Gold Ingot
• 2 Iron Ingots
• 1 Stick

You can also obtain it from the Creative inventory under Equipment.

Abilities And Mechanics

The shockwave is most effective when enemies are close together. Its small area makes it useful for interrupting groups surrounding you, while Slowness II gives you time to reposition or follow up with melee attacks.

The mace has no special use animation, so the shockwave activates immediately when the use/interact control is pressed. Normal melee attacks remain the mace’s primary way to deal damage between ability uses.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the mace once you have access to Obsidian, Gold, Iron, and a Stick.
• Use the shockwave when several enemies are within 2.5 blocks rather than spending it on a single distant target.
• Activate it when surrounded to slow enemies before attacking.
• Keep moving during the 15-second cooldown and rely on the mace’s melee damage.
• Use sword-compatible enchantments to improve the weapon through normal Minecraft enchanting.
