Mystery Mob Egg

Quickstart

Craft one Mystery Mob Egg with a crafting table, then hold it and use it while facing open space to spawn a random creature nearby. For the random effect, don’t target a block: placing the egg against a block places a chicken.

Make some room before trying it—the random creature could be a creeper. You can also find the egg in the Creative inventory under Nature.

Overview

The Mystery Mob Egg is a reusable item that spawns one randomly selected creature when used in open space. Each use chooses from the same set of possibilities.

What It Adds

One egg item and a random-spawn effect. Possible creatures are:

• Allay, armadillo, axolotl, bee, camel
• Cat, chicken, cow, creeper, dolphin
• Fox, frog, goat, iron golem, llama
• Mooshroom, panda, pig, polar bear, rabbit
• Sheep, snow golem, trader llama, turtle, wolf

How To Use

1. Hold the Mystery Mob Egg.
2. Aim toward open space and use the item.
3. A creature appears in front of you.

Using the item while targeting a block places a chicken instead of triggering the random-creature effect.

Crafting And Obtaining

The crafting recipe is shapeless and uses one egg, one ender pearl, one echo shard, and one experience bottle. The recipe produces one Mystery Mob Egg. You can also obtain it from the Creative inventory’s Nature category.

Abilities And Mechanics

Each use in open space spawns one randomly chosen creature from the list above. The item is not consumed when used.

Progression And Strategy

Try the egg in a clear area, especially when testing it near other players or builds. Keep extra distance when using it: one possible result is a creeper.
