Break Lucky Blocks and eat Lucky Apples for wild rewards, dangerous surprises, and rare treasures.
Mod Wiki
Lucky Block Mayhem
Quickstart
- Enter a world and craft a Lucky Block with eight gold ingots surrounding a dispenser:

- Place the block in an open area. Wear armor and keep some distance before breaking it.
- Break the Lucky Block with a suitable tool. Every break triggers one random outcome: rewards, mobs, structures, beneficial events, or dangerous surprises.
- Use any special reward in your hand. Eat a Lucky Apple like food—even when your hunger bar is full—to roll another Lucky Block outcome at your location.
- Keep dangerous rewards away from your base. Lucky Blocks can summon hostile mobs, create explosions, call lightning, drop anvils, or apply harmful effects.
Overview
Lucky Block Mayhem turns each Lucky Block into a chaotic random event. A block can provide rare equipment and treasure, create a temporary structure, spawn a mob wave, or punish you with an unlucky surprise.
Lucky Apples use the same random table without requiring a placed block. The mod also provides special combination items with powerful or harmful effects.
What It Adds
- Lucky Block — A breakable block that triggers a random fate.
- Lucky Apple — An always-edible item that rolls a Lucky Block result when eaten.
- Lucky Combinations — Special reward items with instant effects.
- Lava-Water Bucket — Fuses with lava or water to create obsidian.
- Large reward bundles containing rare equipment, building materials, food, mobs, and treasure.
The special items are available in the Lucky Combinations creative inventory tab. The Lucky Block is also available in the Building Blocks tab.
How To Use
Lucky Block outcomes
Each Lucky Block break or Lucky Apple bite makes one roll:
| Approximate chance | Outcome |
|---|---|
| 28% | A large reward bundle |
| 20% | A wave of 2–4 hostile mobs |
| 15% | A Lucky structure or Mayhem structure |
| 17% | A lucky or dangerous event |
| 20% | An unlucky event |
The mob wave can contain zombies, skeletons, spiders, and creepers. Mobs appear around the block or the player who triggered the roll.
Lucky events can either grant Regeneration II and Speed II, along with eight experience bottles, or call down three lightning strikes nearby. Unlucky events can cause an explosion, inflict poison while spawning hostile mobs, or create a row of falling anvils.
Structures
A lucky structure may be one of the following:
- Treasure House — A small stone-brick and oak structure with a chest and glowstone.
- Mayhem Tower — A tall tower built from alternating polished blackstone and gold blocks.
Structures appear around the broken block, so avoid placing Lucky Blocks directly against important builds.

Lucky reward rolls can provide complete themed bundles such as:

Crafting And Obtaining
Lucky Block
The Lucky Block is crafted with:
- 1 dispenser in the center
- 8 gold ingots surrounding it
The recipe unlocks automatically when you enter a world. A normally broken Lucky Block can also drop another Lucky Block, allowing you to keep the chaos going.
Lucky Apple
Lucky Apples have no standard crafting recipe. Obtain them from Lucky Block reward bundles or the Lucky Combinations creative tab.
Eat the apple to receive normal food nourishment and immediately trigger a random Lucky Block fate at your position. Lucky Apples are always edible, even when you are not hungry.
Special reward items
The following items are obtained from Lucky Block rewards rather than normal crafting:
- Diamond Apple
- Lava-Water Bucket

Progression And Strategy
- Set up a testing area away from your base before opening Lucky Blocks.
- Keep armor, food, a shield, and escape space ready for mob waves and explosions.
- Leave several inventory slots open so large reward bundles do not spill onto the ground.
- Open blocks one at a time and deal with each result before breaking another.
- Store valuable gear before experimenting with Lucky Apples. An apple can trigger lightning, explosions, mobs, or anvils directly beside you.
- Save beneficial combination items for dangerous expeditions, the Nether, the End, or underwater exploration.
- Use the Lava-Water Bucket to make obsidian quickly when you find lava or water.
- Treat every Lucky Block as both a loot chest and a hazard. The best rewards are mixed with effects that can reshape the area around you.
