Ironclad Warfare

Quickstart

  1. At a crafting table, make a [Lancer Assault Rifle]() and its [matching magazine](). Keep the magazines in your inventory or offhand.
  2. Aim at a target and use the rifle to fire; hold use for automatic fire. For a throwable, craft a [Fragmentation Grenade]() and use it to throw. Its blast can damage blocks, so test it away from your base.
  3. For a vehicle, craft a Siege Tank Deployer or Recon Plane Deployer (recipes below), use it in an open area, then interact with the vehicle to ride. Use movement controls to drive or fly; follow the on-screen primary-action prompt to fire.
  4. To start a combat challenge, craft and use a Field Radio, then choose Start Frontline Operation. Stay near where you started and clear all three waves.

Overview

Ironclad Warfare is a combat sandbox built around firearms, tactical equipment, two rideable vehicles, and base defenses. Craft gear and ammunition, set up fortifications, and use the Field Radio to launch a local enemy operation for iron rewards.

How To Use

Firearms and grenades

Use a firearm while looking at your target. Keep its matching magazine in your inventory or offhand. The Lancer fires automatically while held; the Longshot and Service Pistol fire one shot per use.

Use a Fragmentation Grenade to throw it. It bounces or rolls before detonating after about eight seconds. Its explosion does not cause fire; block damage depends on the world’s mob-griefing setting.

Field equipment

  • Field Radio: Use it to start, check the status of, or abort a frontline operation.
  • Reconnaissance Tablet: Use it to check for nearby pillagers, vindicators, evokers, and ravagers within 48 blocks. The result appears on screen.
  • Night-Vision Goggles: Use them to gain night vision for 90 seconds.
  • Emergency Parachute Pack: Use it while falling to gain slow falling for 30 seconds.

Vehicles

Use a Siege Tank Deployer or Recon Plane Deployer in an open area, then interact with the vehicle to mount it. Drive or steer with your movement controls. The on-screen primary-action prompt identifies the firing action: Fire Tank Cannon or Fire Air-to-Ground Guns. Vehicle fire can break blocks, so keep it away from builds you want to protect.

Armor and fortifications

Equip the Tactical Helmet, Plate Carrier, Field Trousers, and Combat Boots in their matching armor slots. Place Sandbag Barriers and Reinforced Walls as cover. Barbed-Wire Barricades damage entities that touch them. Place Sentry Turrets where they can watch an approach; they automatically attack certain hostile mobs nearby.

Use the Forward Bunker Blueprint on a block to place a bunker. Leave room around the target area for the structure.

Sentry Turrets target pillagers, vindicators, evokers, and ravagers within 16 blocks. Barbed wire deals contact damage.

Progression And Strategy

A frontline operation has three waves: 3 enemies, then 5, then 6, including a vindicator in the final wave. Clear each wave to advance. Completing the operation delivers 6 iron ingots; you can check progress with the radio. Moving more than 120 blocks from the starting point, dying, leaving the world, or aborting ends the operation without a reward.

Bring ammunition and armor before starting. Place turrets to cover approaches, use barriers to shape enemy paths, and keep explosive vehicle fire and grenades away from valuable builds.
