Quickstart
In Survival, craft the God Mace using the recipe below. Each world allows only one God Mace to be claimed through crafting.
Hold it in either hand and fight. To awaken it, get kills against other players or armor stands while the mace is in your main hand or offhand when they die. Check the item’s tooltip to see your eligible kill count and the next upgrade. In Creative, look for it in the Combat inventory tab.
Overview
The God Mace is a mace that grows stronger at five kill milestones: 1, 3, 5, 8, and 12 eligible kills. Its progress belongs to the individual mace. It has 500 durability and uses standard mace behavior.
Abilities And Mechanics

Reach, fall protection, and Strength require the mace in either hand. Speed II applies while it is carried in your inventory. At five kills, hitting a player who is actively blocking with a shield interrupts their block and disables that shield for 3 seconds.
How To Use
- Keep the mace in your inventory to benefit from Speed II once it awakens.
- Hold it in either hand to use its reach and, after the first kill, avoid fall damage. Strength also requires holding it.
- For progress, have it in your main hand or offhand when your attack kills another player or an armor stand. Other kills do not count.
- The tooltip shows eligible kills, unlocked abilities, and the next milestone. The mace is fully awakened at 12 eligible kills.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Survival recipe uses redstone blocks, an enchanted golden apple, totems of undying, a vanilla mace, and a netherite block. Only one crafted God Mace can be claimed per world, so coordinate with other players before taking the crafting result.
