Mod Wiki
Elemental Toolcraft
Quickstart
- Gather a few sticks and some dirt, flint, coal, or emeralds.
- Use a crafting table to make your first tool. Dirt is the easiest starting material:

- Hold a tool and use it like its vanilla counterpart:
- Pickaxes mine pickaxe-compatible blocks.
- Axes work on axe-compatible blocks.
- Hoes work on hoe-compatible blocks.
- Swords and knives are used for combat.
- Craft armor from dirt or emeralds, then equip it in the appropriate armor slot.
- Try replacing your dirt tools with flint, coal, or emerald versions as you obtain better materials.
Overview
Elemental Toolcraft adds material-themed tools and armor made from ordinary Minecraft resources. The material controls each item's durability, tool speed, attack damage, or protection.
The mod uses familiar Minecraft interactions rather than special abilities or activation controls. Tools are held and used normally, while armor is equipped normally.

How To Use
Pickaxes
Hold a pickaxe while mining blocks suited to pickaxes. Each pickaxe has a material-specific digging speed and durability.
Axes
Hold an axe to chop axe-compatible blocks. Axes can also be used in combat.
Hoes
Hold a hoe to work hoe-compatible blocks, such as farmland-related blocks, and use it as a light combat tool.
Swords and knives
Use swords and knives for melee combat. The Emerald Sword is the strongest weapon in the mod by listed attack damage. Knives are available in flint and coal versions.
Armor
Place each armor piece in its matching slot:
- Helmets go in the head slot.
- Chestplates go in the chest slot.
- Leggings go in the legs slot.
- Boots go in the feet slot.
Armor pieces are single-stack items and lose durability as they protect you.
Crafting And Obtaining
All recipes are crafted at a crafting table. The recipe references below show the complete ingredient layout when opened.

| Emerald Axe | 500 | 6 | 10 |
| Emerald Hoe | 500 | 4 | 10 |
| Emerald Sword | 500 | 8 | — |
Digging speeds apply to blocks recognized as suitable for that tool type. A dash indicates that the item is a weapon rather than a digging tool.
All tools are unstackable and can be enchanted using their normal equipment roles.
Armor statistics
| Armor piece | Dirt durability | Dirt protection | Emerald durability | Emerald protection |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet | 7 | 1 | 500 | 3 |
| Chestplate | 7 | 2 | 500 | 8 |
| Leggings | 7 | 2 | 500 | 6 |
| Boots | 7 | 1 | 500 | 3 |
A complete dirt armor set provides 6 listed protection. A complete emerald armor set provides 20 listed protection. Armor pieces are enchantable and occupy the standard armor slots.
Progression And Strategy
- Start with dirt gear. Dirt tools are easy to replace and let you begin experimenting immediately.
- Move to flint tools. Flint gives a large improvement in durability and digging speed, making it a useful early upgrade.
- Use coal for dependable utility. Coal tools last longer and work faster than flint tools, while coal knives provide a stronger combat option.
- Save emeralds for major upgrades. Emerald tools have 500 durability and the highest listed digging speeds. The Emerald Sword has 8 attack damage.
- Build emerald armor when protection matters. Emerald armor provides substantially more protection and durability than the dirt set.
- Enchant your preferred equipment. Since the tools and armor are enchantable, enchant the items you expect to keep using—especially emerald gear for long-term durability.
