Dragon Awakening

Quickstart

1. Open chat and run /dragon choose night_fury (or any dragon type you like).
2. You spawn as a baby dragon. Double-tap Jump to toggle creative-style flight with animated wing beats.
3. Press Jump once to ascend while flying; move normally to steer.
4. Run /dragon ability to fire your dragon's signature power.
5. Run /dragon info to see your current type, age stage, and ability cooldown on the action-bar HUD.
6. When you're done, run /dragon release to return to your normal player form.

Overview

Dragon Awakening lets you transform into one of eight dragons inspired by How to Train Your Dragon. Each dragon has a unique silhouette, custom animated model, and a signature combat or exploration ability. You begin as a hatchling and grow through four age stages over Minecraft days, gaining faster flight and shorter ability cooldowns as you mature. Your dragon form, age, and cooldowns are saved persistently — logging out and back in keeps your progress.

Growth Stages

Dragons grow a little with each Minecraft day spent transformed. Each stage increases your visual scale and reduces ability cooldowns.

Models & Visuals

Every dragon has a fully custom model with distinctive features:

• Night Fury / Light Fury — large ribbed wings with wing claws, tail fins, bright accent spines, pale edging
• Hideous Zippleback — two separate heads
• Stormcutter — secondary hind wings
• All dragons — animated wing beats and tail motion that respond to movement and flight state; glowing accent colors optional

How To Use

Commands

Dragon type names for /dragon choose: night_fury · light_fury · deadly_nadder · monstrous_nightmare · gronckle · hideous_zippleback · stormcutter · bewilderbeast

Available colors: default · black · white · teal · purple · blue · green · red · gold

Flight Controls

• Double-tap Jump — toggle dragon flight on/off
• While flying, Jump lifts you up and normal directional keys steer you
• Flight speed improves as your dragon ages

Ability Cooldowns

After using /dragon ability, there is a cooldown before you can use it again. The cooldown duration decreases as your dragon grows older. Check remaining cooldown at any time with /dragon info; it appears on the action-bar HUD so you can glance at it during combat without opening chat.

Abilities And Mechanics

Each ability triggers immediately when you run /dragon ability and targets enemies or the area around you depending on the type:

• Plasma Blast / Spine Burst — projectile or spread attacks aimed outward from your position
• Vanish Dash — movement ability; useful for escaping or repositioning in aerial combat
• Fire Cloak / Boulder Hide — defensive auras that persist briefly after activation
• Poison Gas — area-of-effect cloud that lingers and debilitates nearby mobs
• Sky Lightning — calls lightning strikes down on nearby enemies
• Alpha Frost Command — wide-area frost burst; Bewilderbeast's alpha-class power

Abilities work in survival and affect hostile mobs. Your dragon form does not remove your inventory, health bar, or survival mechanics — you remain a player who can fight, take damage, and interact with the world normally.

Progression And Strategy

• Start as any dragon — there is no unlock gate. Pick the type that appeals to you and begin flying immediately.
• Stay transformed to accumulate growth. Each Minecraft day (20 real-world minutes) pushes you toward the next age stage.
• Choose your role early — if you want mobility, Light Fury's Vanish Dash excels at exploration; if you want crowd control, Stormcutter's Sky Lightning or Bewilderbeast's Alpha Frost Command hit multiple targets.
• Customize your look with /dragon customize at any time; color, horns, and glow are saved persistently and do not affect abilities.
• Switch dragons freely with /dragon choose <type> — your age resets to baby when you pick a new type, so commit to a form if you want to reach adult stage quickly.
• Release safely — /dragon release cleanly removes your dragon form without any penalties; re-choosing the same type later will start you as a baby again.
