Day Cruncher

Quickstart

• In Creative, find the Day Cruncher Spawn Egg and use it on the ground. Try it during the day to see the creature hunt.
• In a world with natural spawning, look for a Day Cruncher on the Overworld surface in bright conditions.
• To summon one with a command, use /summon com_day_cruncher_hvp4dknw:day_cruncher.
• Keep your distance: a nearby bite deals 64 damage, and the creature can break several kinds of blocks.

Overview

Day Cruncher adds a large predator that hunts in daylight and rests at night. It also includes the Night Cruncher, a counterpart that hunts after dark and flees the sun.

What It Adds

Both creatures have 500 health, are roughly 6 blocks tall, and can attack players and other mobs.

How To Use

Use a spawn egg on the ground to bring out either creature. Day Crunchers naturally spawn alone on the Overworld surface in bright conditions; Night Crunchers naturally spawn alone on the Overworld surface in low light.

There are no special player controls or interactions: observe them, avoid them, or fight them.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Day Cruncher: Searches for players and other mobs, then bites nearby targets for 64 damage. It does not target other Day Crunchers or Night Crunchers.
• Night Cruncher: Hunts at night and flees the sun during the day.
• Block breaking: Both can break blocks including stone, dirt, sand, gravel, cobblestone, glass, oak planks, oak logs, and oak leaves.
• Drops: Either creature can drop 2–5 rotten flesh. A player kill may also yield string or spider eyes; Looting can increase drops.

Progression And Strategy

There is no crafting or progression system. If you encounter a Day Cruncher while exploring, keep away from its bite and use ranged attacks to engage from a distance. Don’t count on ordinary blocks such as glass or oak planks to keep it contained.
