Puppy's Collar

Quickstart

1. Craft a Red Binding Collar at a crafting table using leather and a lead.
2. Hold the collar in your main hand and either interact (right-click/tap) another player, or left-click/hit them while holding it to equip the collar on them. You become the collar's owner.
3. Optionally rename the collar at an anvil first — the name becomes the "Owned by …" text displayed above the collared player.
4. Craft a Dog Whistle to open a command menu targeting the nearest collared player. Use it to issue movement, rest, or trick commands.
5. Only the owner can remove a collar. If the collar is forced off, it restores automatically.

Overview

Puppy's Collar is a roleplay and social addon that lets players collar, command, and leash other players. Collars sit in the chest armour slot and render visually on the wearer. An "Owned by" nameplate floats above collared players. A suite of matching accessories — Dog Whistle, Dog Leash, Dog Bed, Dog Bowl, Dog Ball, Squeaky Toy, Paw Boots, and Training Treats — rounds out the experience. Everything comes in all 16 Minecraft dye colours.

How To Use

Collaring a Player

• Interact (right-click / tap) a player while holding a collar to equip it on them.
• Alternatively, left-click / hit a player while holding a collar — the hitter becomes the owner.
• To set custom "Owned by" text, rename the collar at an anvil before applying it.
• The collar goes into the target's chest armour slot. Only the owner can remove it; it auto-restores if forced off.

Recolouring a Collar Before Applying

Hold a dye in your off-hand when applying a collar to apply that colour instantly, or recolour at a crafting table (see Crafting section).

Dog Whistle — Command Menu

Any player holding a Dog Whistle can target the nearest collared player and open a menu with:

• Follow Me — collared player follows the whistle holder
• Stay Here — collared player stays in place
• Come To Me — collared player teleports/moves to the holder
• Sleep In Dog Bed — sends the collared player to rest in a nearby Dog Bed
• Tricks — Sit, Lay Down, Roll Over

Dog Leash

Craft a Dog Leash and interact with a collared player to attach it. The tethered player is pulled along with the leash holder; straying too far triggers a teleport back. Interact again to detach.

Dog Bed

Place a Dog Bed in the world. Collared players can walk to and curl up in it, especially when commanded via the Dog Whistle.

Abilities And Mechanics

Collar Behaviour

• Renders visually as a real collar around the wearer's neck.
• Displays a floating "Owned by [name]" label above the collared player. Rename the collar before applying to customise this text.
• Does not apply slowness or mining fatigue to the wearer.
• Collared players can freely walk and use Dog Beds normally.
• Only the owner can remove the collar. Any attempt to force it off will cause it to auto-restore.

Dog Leash Mechanics

• Attaches to a collared player with a visible leash trail.
• The tethered player is pulled toward the holder as distance increases.
• If the tether distance becomes too great, the collared player is teleported to the holder.
• Interact with the leashed player while holding the leash to detach.

Dog Bowls

• Solid single-colour decorative blocks with no kibble detail.
• Available in all 16 dye colours; recolour at any crafting table.

Progression And Strategy

• Start simple: craft a Red Binding Collar and a Dog Whistle early — these are the core tools.
• Personalise: rename collars at an anvil before applying to give each collared player a unique "Owned by" tag. Recolour collars, beds, bowls, and whistles to match your aesthetic.
• Control and mobility: use the Dog Leash when exploring together so a collared player can't wander off. Switch to Dog Whistle commands for hands-free direction.
• Home base: set up a Dog Bed and a matching Dog Bowl near your base. Use the "Sleep In Dog Bed" whistle command to send collared players to rest.
• Tricks and roleplay: the Sit, Lay Down, and Roll Over trick commands via the Dog Whistle are purely for roleplay fun — reward good tricks with Training Treats.
