Creative Star

Quickstart

1. Craft the Creative Star using the recipe below (or find it already unlocked in your recipe book when you join a world).
2. Place it in your hotbar and right-click while holding it.
3. Watch your game mode flip instantly between Survival and Creative, complete with a level-up sound and an on-screen message.
4. Right-click again to switch back. That's the whole loop!

Overview

Creative Star is a single magical item that lets you toggle your game mode on the fly. Instead of typing commands or digging through menus, you simply hold the star and right-click to jump between Survival and Creative Mode. It's a convenience item for builders, testers, and anyone who wants quick access to Creative tools without leaving the game world.

What It Adds

• Creative Star — a shimmering, enchantment-glinted item found in the Tools tab of the Creative inventory.
• A built-in recipe that is automatically unlocked in your recipe book as soon as you join a world.
• Compatibility with beacons — the Creative Star can be used as a beacon payment item, just like a nether star.

How To Use

• Right-click while holding the Creative Star to toggle your game mode:
  • If you're in Creative Mode, you'll switch to Survival Mode.
  • If you're in Survival Mode, you'll switch to Creative Mode.
• A colored chat message confirms the switch (gold for Creative, green for Survival), accompanied by a level-up sound effect.
• After using it, the star has a short one-second cooldown before it can be used again.
• Hover over the item in your inventory to see a tooltip reminding you how it works.
• You only ever need one Creative Star — it doesn't get consumed or damaged when used.

Since the recipe is unlocked automatically for all players, you can craft it as soon as you have the ingredients, without needing to discover it first.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Game Mode Toggle: The star's core ability is switching the holder between Creative and Survival Mode with a single right-click.
• Visual Flair: The item always displays an enchantment glint, marking it as something special even before you know what it does.
• Beacon Fuel: Beyond its toggle ability, the Creative Star can also power a beacon, just like a nether star, giving it a secondary practical use if you'd rather not carry it around for mode-switching.

Progression And Strategy

• Keep the Creative Star handy if you frequently switch between building/testing in Creative Mode and playing survival challenges — it saves you from opening menus or using chat commands.
• Because it's not consumed on use, one star lasts forever; craft a second only if you want to stash one in each of your bases.
• If you'd rather use it purely as beacon fuel, that's a valid alternative once you've settled into Survival Mode and no longer need frequent switching.
