Cloverflame Grimoire

Quickstart

1. In Survival, find a bookshelf and interact with it. If you don’t already have a grimoire, it may give you one suited to your magic attribute; your attribute is shown when you spawn. The first player’s initial spawn also creates a Grimoire House nearby, so check its bookshelves.
2. Hold your grimoire and use it to cast. Crouch-use changes some spells; hitting a target with the grimoire can trigger others. In Survival, you need the matching attribute to use a grimoire.
3. Try the Spatial Grimoire first for a nearby blink: face an open route and use it. Or craft a Clover Broom, place it on a rail, then interact with it to mount. Riding spends 20 mana.

Overview

The mod adds fire, water, spatial, and wither magic, a mana system, and a flying broom. Mana regenerates over time, and your mana meter shows your current supply. Your starting mana and maximum are variable; enchanted fruit can raise the maximum.

What It Adds

How To Use

Use grimoires from your hand; crouch when a spell calls for it. You can also use eligible grimoires from your offhand.

• Fire: Use for a fireball (20 mana). At 20 XP levels, hitting a target with the grimoire launches a homing fireball (35 mana). At 50 XP levels, crouch-use while aiming at a target to start a firechain (50 mana); use again to end an active chain.
• Water: Hit a target while holding the grimoire to launch a water ball (5 mana). At 10 XP levels, holding it underwater grants underwater breathing, at a mana cost. At 20 XP levels, crouch-use for a water shield (20 mana). At 50 XP levels, use while aiming at a target for Waterdragon (50 mana).
• Valkyrie Water: At 100 XP levels, use the Water Grimoire while wearing armor and with 100 mana to activate a five-minute form. It temporarily equips a full Valkyrie Water armor set and Water Spiralling Lance, with combat boosts.
• Spatial: Use to blink up to 30 blocks along your line of sight (5 mana). At 20 XP levels, hit a mob or player to teleport it about five blocks away (20 mana). At 50 XP levels, crouch-use to open the destination menu. Enter coordinates, a player name, or a supported structure name, or choose a saved waypoint; teleporting costs 50 mana. Successful trips are saved in a history of up to eight waypoints.
• Wither: Use to summon five Wither Skeleton Allies (50 mana). Crouch while holding the grimoire to spread wither roses (10 mana). If you die while holding it and have 100 mana, a wither appears at your death location.

Creative players can use grimoires without meeting the Survival attribute and XP requirements.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Clover Broom at a crafting table:

In Survival, interact with bookshelves to seek a grimoire that matches your attribute. Structure chests may contain Mana Potions. Grimoires, potions, and other mod items are also available in the Creative inventory.

Craft and eat a Diamond Apple to increase your mana maximum by 10:

A Netherite Apple increases it by 50:

Both apples also replenish mana as you eat them. A Mana Potion restores mana to your current maximum.

Abilities And Mechanics

The four grimoires have different Survival attribute requirements: Fire, Water, Spatial, or Wither. Check the attribute message shown when you spawn. Keep mana in reserve for spells and broom rides; it regenerates by one point per second.

The broom has one seat and can fly. Place it on a rail, then interact to mount. Each new ride costs 20 mana; if you lack enough, you’ll be ejected.

Progression And Strategy

XP-level unlocks apply to your highest level reached. Save mana for the higher-cost spells, and use the apples or potions to build up your supply. The Spatial Grimoire’s nearby blink is useful for quick movement; its saved waypoints make longer trips easier to revisit.
