    Description:

This mod adds a thin 1x1 ceiling-mounted glow panel that you place on the underside of solid blocks; each powered panel creates an invisible 3x3 light field directly beneath it to brightly illuminate rooms. Panels only emit light while a flat electric panel is mounted on a nearby wall within 15 blocks, so you must install wall-mounted electric panels to power ceiling lights — lights will automatically switch off and clean up their light when out of range or removed. All parts are available in survival (crafting recipes, drops, and creative inventory entries included) so you can build, power, and arrange lighting systems with normal gameplay.

    Mod Wiki

    Ceiling Glow Panel

    Quickstart

    1. Craft an Electric Panel and a Ceiling Glow Panel (recipes below).
    2. Mount the Electric Panel on any solid wall by right-clicking the wall's face — it snaps flat against the surface.
    3. Right-click the underside of a solid ceiling block to place a Ceiling Glow Panel — it must be placed on the bottom face of a block.
    4. If the Ceiling Glow Panel is within 15 blocks of the Electric Panel, it will light up immediately and flood the area below it with bright light.

    Overview

Ceiling Glow Panel adds a two-piece lighting system to Minecraft. Thin panels mount flush to ceilings and emit a wide 3×3 field of bright light — but only when powered by a nearby wall-mounted Electric Panel. This creates a natural "wiring" requirement: you must run Electric Panels along walls before ceiling lights will work, encouraging deliberate room planning and infrastructure layout.

    What It Adds

    BlockDescription
Ceiling Glow PanelThin panel placed on the underside of solid blocks; emits a 3×3 invisible light field below when powered
Electric PanelFlat panel mounted on a wall; powers all Ceiling Glow Panels within 15 blocks

Both blocks are found in the Functional Blocks creative tab and drop themselves when broken with a pickaxe.

    How To Use

    Placing the Electric Panel

Right-click any horizontal face of a solid block (north, south, east, or west sides). The panel attaches flush to the wall. If the wall block is removed, the Electric Panel falls. You can place Electric Panels on any solid wall surface.

    Placing the Ceiling Glow Panel

Right-click the bottom face of a solid block while looking up at the ceiling. The panel cannot be placed on floors or walls. Once placed, the panel checks for a nearby Electric Panel automatically.

    Powering the Lights

A Ceiling Glow Panel is lit when at least one Electric Panel exists within a 15-block radius. When lit, it generates an invisible 3×3 grid of light blocks directly below it at full brightness (light level 15). No redstone, switches, or additional wiring is needed — proximity to an Electric Panel is the only requirement.

When an Electric Panel is removed or moves out of range, nearby Ceiling Glow Panels automatically switch off and clean up their invisible light sources.

Both blocks drop themselves when mined with a pickaxe and are also available directly from the Functional Blocks creative inventory tab.

    Abilities And Mechanics

    • 3×3 light field: Each lit Ceiling Glow Panel places an invisible, intangible 3×3 grid of light sources in the air directly below it, all at light level 15. These light blocks have no collision and can be walked or built through freely.
    • Automatic cleanup: Light sources are checked every second. If the owning Ceiling Glow Panel is removed or its powering Electric Panel goes out of range, the invisible lights are removed automatically — no ghost lighting is left behind.
    • 15-block power range: The Electric Panel's influence is a 15-block search radius. A single Electric Panel can power many Ceiling Glow Panels at once as long as they all fall within range.
    • Facing awareness: Ceiling Glow Panels store which direction they face (for model rotation) but their lighting behavior is the same regardless of orientation.

    Progression And Strategy

    • Early rooms: A single Electric Panel mounted on one wall can light an entire small room filled with Ceiling Glow Panels — prioritize crafting one Electric Panel per room before filling the ceiling.
    • Large halls: Space Ceiling Glow Panels in a grid pattern across a wide ceiling. Because each panel covers a 3×3 area, panels placed roughly 3 blocks apart will produce seamless, even illumination.
    • Multi-room coverage: An Electric Panel placed at a corridor junction can power lights in several adjacent rooms simultaneously if they are all within 15 blocks, reducing the total number of Electric Panels you need to craft.
    • Material cost: Electric Panels require iron and copper ingots, making them a mid-game investment. Plan your base layout before committing to a full lighting installation to minimize material use.
