Quickstart

1. Craft a Cat Channel Television using the recipe below, then place it like any block — it automatically faces you.
2. Right-click the TV to power it on. You'll hear a click and see a status message in your action bar.
3. With the TV on, right-click with an empty hand to open the channel-selection screen and pick one of the seven channels.
4. Want to change channels quickly? Sneak + right-click to cycle through channels without opening the menu.

Overview

The Cat Channel Television is an ultra-thin, single-block decorative TV with a rounded, cat-faced silhouette. It plays ambient audio and displays one of seven unique channels. The translucent, shaped edges let the TV blend naturally into any build without leaving an ugly solid black rectangle behind.

Abilities And Mechanics

Powering the TV

• Right-click any face of the TV to toggle power on or off.
• When turned on, the TV begins playing the ambient audio for the currently selected channel and displays the channel name in your action bar.
• When turned off, you'll hear a soft click and the audio and display stop.

Changing Channels

There are three ways to switch channels:

When a channel is selected, you hear a soft switch sound and the channel name appears in your action bar. Built-in cooldowns prevent sounds from spamming if you switch rapidly.

Rendering

The TV uses a translucent render layer, so the rounded cat-head frame is shaped and see-through at its edges rather than a solid block face. This means it slots cleanly into walls, shelves, or open-air builds alike, with the selected channel clearly visible on screen.

Both the Cat Channel Television and the Cat TV Remote are found in the Functional Blocks creative inventory tab.

The Cat TV Remote is obtained from the same creative tab. (No separate crafting recipe is required for the remote — grab it from the creative menu or via commands in survival.)

Progression And Strategy

• Place multiple TVs tuned to different channels to create themed rooms — a cozy cat lounge, a spooky cave ambience zone, or a relaxing cloud deck.
• Keep a Cat TV Remote in your hotbar to control any nearby TV without walking over to it — useful in large builds or theatres.
• The TV's slim profile (only about 1/8 of a block deep) lets it mount flush against walls, just like a real flat-screen.
• Ambient audio has built-in spacing so it won't loop into noise spam — each channel plays at a comfortable pace.
