Blast Wool Armor

Quickstart

1. Gather wool blocks (any color works).
2. Craft the four armor pieces at a crafting table using the recipes below.
3. Equip all four pieces in your armor slots.
4. Stand near explosions (creepers, TNT, beds in the wrong dimension, etc.) and let the armor soften the blow.
5. Wear the full set to also gain a light dose of Fire Resistance for extra blast survivability.

Overview

Blast Wool Armor is a full set of soft, wool-based armor built specifically to help you survive explosions. It won't outclass iron or diamond armor for general combat, but it specializes in reducing the sting of blast damage from TNT, creepers, ghasts, and other explosive sources.

Each piece is enchantable, repairable, and provides modest armor protection, but their real value comes from their explosion-mitigating behavior described below.

Crafting And Obtaining

All four pieces are crafted at a crafting table using plain wool blocks:

You can repair any piece by combining it with white, black, gray, or brown wool at an anvil (or in a crafting grid), restoring a portion of its durability.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Blast Cushioning: When you take damage from a block explosion (like TNT) or an entity explosion (like a creeper or ghast fireball), wearing any wool armor piece softens the hit — you recover a small sliver of health right after the blast strikes.
  • Wearing 1–3 pieces cushions roughly half a heart of the damage.
  • Wearing the full 4-piece set cushions roughly a full heart of the damage.
• Full Set Bonus: While all four pieces are equipped at once, you continuously receive a light, temporary Fire Resistance effect, helping you shrug off the fiery aftermath of explosions.
• Durability: Each piece has its own durability pool and slowly wears down like normal armor, but can be restored with wool at any time.

Progression And Strategy

Blast Wool Armor is an early, low-cost defensive option — ideal for players who need cheap protection while mining near TNT traps, raiding creeper farms, or building around explosive mobs. Since it's crafted purely from wool, it's easy to obtain in bulk (via sheep farming) and quick to replace or repair. For maximum benefit, always wear the complete four-piece set to get both the strongest blast cushioning and the passive Fire Resistance bonus.
