Wither Crown Guardian

Quickstart

1. In Creative Mode, find the Wither Crown Guardian Spawn Egg and use it to spawn a guardian. You can also use /summon com_wither_crown_guardian_znfczgp2:mycustom ~ ~ ~.
2. Hold a Netherite Sword and interact with the guardian to tame it. Once tamed, it follows you and fights monsters.
3. To protect yourself if a guardian does hit you, wear a Wither Skeleton Skull in your head slot. Wearing the skull does not tame the guardian; the Netherite Sword is the taming item.

Overview

The Wither Crown Guardian is a royal skeleton that roams when untamed and becomes a monster-fighting companion when tamed. It has 36 health.

What It Adds

How To Use

Interact with an untamed guardian while holding a Netherite Sword to tame it. A tamed guardian follows its owner and attacks nearby monsters, including monsters that attack its owner. It can follow from up to 48 blocks away, but does not teleport to catch up.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for the guardian or its spawn egg.

Guardians can spawn in Nether biomes on Nether Brick in low light, in groups of one or two. You can also spawn one with the Creative spawn egg or the summon command in Quickstart.

Guardians may drop 0–2 bones and 0–1 coal. A player kill has a 2.5% chance to drop a Wither Skeleton Skull; Looting can increase the chance.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Tamed guardians attack monsters with melee strikes that deal 8 damage.
• A Wither Skeleton Skull or Wither Skeleton Head worn in the head slot prevents the guardian from damaging you.
• Untamed guardians roam rather than actively hunting monsters. Taming enables their guarding and following behavior.

Progression And Strategy

Find a guardian in the Nether or spawn one, then tame it with a Netherite Sword to gain a companion that helps against monsters. Keep it nearby while exploring: it follows you, but cannot teleport if it falls too far behind.
