Quickstart

1. Craft a Stable Builder Block at a crafting table (recipe below).
2. Stand facing an open, relatively flat area — the stable will appear 10 blocks directly in front of you.
3. Place the Stable Builder Block on the ground. The stable generates instantly, facing you, and six horses appear inside.
4. Open the chest in any stall to grab a saddle and horse armor, then ride!

Overview

Villages Alive Stables gives you a single craftable block that conjures a complete, fully stocked horse stable in seconds. No commands, no building, no setup — just place the block and your stable is ready to use.

What It Adds

• Stable Builder Block — a placeable construction block found in the Construction category of your inventory.
• A full rustic stable — automatically built when the block is placed, complete with horses, lighting, fencing, and supplies.

How To Use

Placing the Stable

Face the direction you want the stable to open toward, then place the Stable Builder Block anywhere on the ground. The stable generates centered 10 blocks in front of you, opening in the direction you were facing. Make sure you have a clear, open area — the builder clears and levels a 41 × 31 × 20 space, replacing everything inside with the new stable grounds.

The Stable Grounds

• The floor is converted to grass with scattered tall grass throughout the yard.
• An oak fence runs one block in from the edge of the property, topped with torches for lighting.
• Each of the four fence sides has a centered 3-block-wide open gap — there are no gates, so horses and players can pass freely through these openings on foot.
• Two shallow water holes sit in front of the stable structure.
• The stable building itself is sunk one block into the ground, giving it a natural, settled look.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Horses

• Six horses spawn, one centered in each stall, each with a unique name.
• Coat colors vary and always include one solid black and one solid white horse.
• Unmounted horses roam freely anywhere within the fenced yard but cannot leave — the fence keeps them contained.
• Mounted horses (being ridden by a player) can leave the yard through the fence gaps or over the fence, letting you ride out into the world.

The Builder Block Itself

• The Stable Builder Block is destroyed by the build process — it is consumed when the stable generates.
• It can be mined with an axe if you need to remove it before placing.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Stable Builder Block at any crafting table once you have oak planks, a hay block, and oak fences in your inventory.

Progression And Strategy

• Early use: The pre-stocked chests provide enough saddles and armor to fully equip all six horses immediately — no grinding required.
• Choose your spot carefully: The builder clears a large 41 × 31 area, so avoid placing it near existing builds or terrain features you want to keep.
• Face the right direction: The stable opens toward you, so position yourself on the side you want the front of the stable to face before placing.
• Riding out: The open fence gaps on all four sides mean you can ride any direction out of the yard without dismounting.
• Multiple stables: Craft additional Stable Builder Blocks to create separate stables in different locations, each with its own set of six horses and supplies.
