Sunsting Scorpion

Quickstart

• In Creative mode, find the Sunsting Scorpion Spawn Egg and use it on the ground to spawn one.
• To summon it with commands, use /summon com_sunsting_scorpion_axj4tbbj:mycustom.
• For a natural encounter, look for scorpions on sand in dark areas of desert biomes. They attack players and hunt bugs, so keep your distance and watch for their sting.

Overview

The Sunsting Scorpion is a hostile desert mob with 20 health (10 hearts). It wanders when it has no target, but pursues nearby players and arthropods when it spots them.

What It Adds

• A scorpion mob with its own spawn egg.
• Natural spawning on the surface of desert sand in low-light conditions.
• Venomous attacks and drops of string and, sometimes, a spider eye.

How To Use

The scorpion is a living mob: spawn it with its egg or a command, or encounter it in a desert. The spawn egg can also be used to create one for a fight or display.

It is not tameable or rideable. It will attack players and bugs, including spiders, cave spiders, silverfish, endermites, and bees.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the scorpion. Find it spawning on desert sand in low light, or use its spawn egg in Creative mode.

When killed, it can drop 0–2 string. A player kill also has a chance to drop one spider eye; Looting can improve that chance.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Venomous sting: At close range, the scorpion deals 4 damage (2 hearts) and can inflict Poison for about 4 seconds.
• Targeting: It needs a clear view of its target to attack. Its sting has a short reach, so it must get close.
• Desert spawning: Natural spawns are solitary and require surface sand, a desert biome, and low light.

Progression And Strategy

Watch the sand in dim desert areas, especially when exploring on foot. If a scorpion spots you, avoid letting it close the gap; ranged attacks can help you deal with it from a safer distance. Watch your health after a sting, since Poison can continue to hurt you.
