Stormbreaker Wand

Quickstart

1. Craft the Stormbreaker Wand in a crafting table:

1. Hold the wand in either hand and use it to aim.
2. Point at a wall or other terrain and use the wand again. It fires a beam up to 96 blocks, carving a broad tunnel through the blocks in its path and calling down lightning.
3. Leave about 1.5 seconds between uses unless you disable the cooldown with /nocloudown.

The wand is also available in the Combat item group in Creative mode.

Overview

The Stormbreaker Wand is a powerful single-use-at-a-time weapon for excavation and destruction. Its lightning beam pierces through walls instead of stopping at the first block, breaking a wide path toward the point you are aiming at.

Each use:

• Breaks blocks along the beam’s path, up to 96 blocks away.
• Clears a roughly 5×5×5 area around the beam path.
• Produces a trail of lightning along the beam.
• Calls down a final lightning strike at the impact point.
• Uses 1 durability and starts a short cooldown.

What It Adds

The wand has 128 durability and can receive weapon enchantments.

How To Use

Fire the beam

Equip the Stormbreaker Wand and use it while looking in the desired direction. The wand follows your aim and targets the block or position within range.

The beam begins in front of you and removes blocks along its entire route. It does not stop when it encounters a wall, making it useful for opening tunnels, clearing fortifications, and reaching enclosed areas.

Lightning effects

Lightning bolts appear at intervals along the beam as it travels. A final lightning strike lands at the beam’s impact point, giving the end of the shot a stronger visible and audible effect.

Use caution when firing near builds, mobs, flammable areas, or anything you want to preserve.

Cooldown

After firing, the wand normally has a 30-tick cooldown, equal to about 1.5 seconds. The cooldown prevents continuous rapid-fire use.

Run:

/nocloudown

to toggle the Stormbreaker Wand cooldown off or on. The command gives you a confirmation message each time it is toggled.

Crafting And Obtaining

The wand is crafted from a diamond, two netherite ingots, a lightning rod, and a blaze rod:

The recipe is available after entering a world. In Creative mode, find the wand in the Combat item group.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Maximum range: 96 blocks.
• Beam width: The wand breaks blocks in a radius of 2 blocks around the beam’s center, creating a broad passage rather than a one-block hole.
• Piercing beam: Blocks throughout the route are broken, including blocks behind the first wall.
• Block drops: Broken blocks use normal block-breaking drops.
• Durability: Each shot consumes 1 durability from the wand.
• Stack size: Only one wand can occupy a slot.
• Enchanting: The wand is treated as a weapon for compatible weapon enchantments.
• Cooldown toggle: /nocloudown switches the wand’s firing cooldown off or on.

Progression And Strategy

The Stormbreaker Wand uses expensive materials, so it is best reserved for major excavation and high-impact combat situations.

• Fire from a safe position when clearing a wall or opening a route.
• Aim carefully in valuable builds: the beam’s wide radius can remove far more blocks than the center line suggests.
• Use long, clear sightlines to take advantage of the wand’s 96-block range.
• Keep spare durability or another tool available for repeated use.
• Disable the cooldown with /nocloudown when testing the wand in Creative mode or when rapid firing is useful.
