Quickstart

1. Obtain Stormbreaker by crafting it from a netherite sword, magma cream, blaze powder, and a fire charge:

1. Place Stormbreaker in your main hand or off-hand.
2. Strike a living target with it. Every successful hit sets the target on fire for 5 seconds.
3. Stormbreaker is also available in the Combat section of the Creative inventory.

Overview

Stormbreaker is a single-use-stack molten weapon for close combat. It behaves as a sword and combines normal melee damage with a burning effect on every successful hit.

What It Adds

• Stormbreaker, a handheld sword
• A shapeless crafting recipe using:
  • 1 netherite sword
  • 1 magma cream
  • 1 blaze powder
  • 1 fire charge
• A fire effect that burns every living target struck by the weapon
• Sword classification for combat and item interactions
• Pickaxe-mineable tool functionality

How To Use

Hold Stormbreaker in either hand and attack normally. Each successful melee hit ignites the target for 100 ticks, or 5 seconds.

The weapon works against living targets such as hostile mobs and animals. No special key or alternate interaction is required—simply use the regular attack control.

Stormbreaker does not stack, so each inventory slot can hold only one.

The recipe is shapeless, so the ingredients can be placed in any arrangement in a crafting grid:

The crafting recipe is unlocked when you enter a world. In Creative mode, find Stormbreaker in the Combat inventory tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

Molten Edge

Every successful hit ignites the target for 5 seconds. Repeated hits can keep enemies burning during a fight.

Melee Weapon

Stormbreaker is treated as a sword and uses standard melee attack controls. It has normal weapon durability and loses 1 durability point after each successful hit.

Tool Functionality

Stormbreaker can also interact with blocks in the pickaxe-mineable category, giving it limited utility beyond combat.

Progression And Strategy

Stormbreaker requires a netherite sword and several Nether-related ingredients, making it a late-game combat tool. Use it when fighting groups of enemies or targets vulnerable to fire, and strike repeatedly to maintain the burn effect.

Because each successful hit consumes durability, bring a replacement weapon or plan to repair Stormbreaker when it becomes worn.
