Sparkhoof Reindeer

Quickstart

1. Find a Sparkhoof Reindeer in a taiga or snowy biome during the day, or get its spawn egg in Creative mode. You can also summon one with /summon com_sparkhoof_reindeer_m2t6xsbb:mycustom.
2. Feed it apples, golden carrots, or sweet berries until it is tamed. Taming may take several tries.
3. Use a saddle on your tamed reindeer, then interact with it to ride. Steer with your usual mounted movement controls and try flying through the air.

Overview

Sparkhoof Reindeer are sparkling, free-flying mounts. They can fly on their own, follow their owner after being tamed, and defend their owner in a fight.

What It Adds

• One flying reindeer with 28 health.
• A spawn egg for finding one quickly in Creative mode.
• Taming, saddling, riding, and owner-defense behavior.

How To Use

• Tame: Feed a wild reindeer an apple, golden carrot, or sweet berries. Each feeding has a chance to tame it.
• Saddle: Hold a saddle and interact with your tamed reindeer.
• Ride: Interact with the saddled reindeer to mount. It carries one player; use your normal mounted controls to steer it in the air.
• Get help: A tamed reindeer can attack an enemy that hurts you or that you attack. It can also retaliate when attacked itself.

Crafting And Obtaining

Reindeer may spawn in groups of one to three on the surface of taiga and snowy biomes in daylight. In Creative mode, use the Sparkhoof Reindeer Spawn Egg or the summon command in Quickstart.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The reindeer flies freely and can travel over water.
• It deals 6 damage with its close-range attack when it has a clear path to its target.
• It takes no fall damage and resists knockback.
• It may drop leather and beef when killed. A player kill has a small chance to drop glowstone dust.

Progression And Strategy

Bring several taming foods in case the first attempts fail. Once tamed, saddle the reindeer to travel by air; keep it nearby when exploring so it can come to your aid in combat.
