Description:
The Saddle Hen is a tameable, mountable mob for Java Edition Minecraft 26.1 (Fabric). It combines the best traits of a parrot, a tamed wolf, and a lava-walking mount into one powerful companion. Tame it with Wheat Seeds, saddle it up, and ride safely across lava, fire, and the Nether's most hostile terrain.
| Thing | Details |
|---|---|
| Saddle Hen mob | Naturally spawning, tameable, mountable |
| Saddle Hen Spawn Egg | Available in Creative Mode / via commands |
The Saddle Hen uses the vanilla Chicken appearance.
Hold Wheat Seeds and right-click a wild Saddle Hen. Each attempt has a 1-in-3 chance of success. Hearts mean success; smoke means failure — keep feeding until tamed.
A sitting hen stays put and will not attack.
Right-click your tamed hen with a Saddle to equip it. The saddle is consumed from your hand and you will hear a saddle sound.
Tip: A saddle stored inside the hen's 27-slot inventory also counts as the hen being saddled, enabling mounting and storage just as if directly equipped.
Sneak + right-click your saddled hen to open its 27-slot chest inventory (three rows). Store anything you like. The full inventory is dropped on death.
Right-click your saddled hen (without sneaking) to mount it. WASD moves you; the hen faces where you look. Dismount with your dismount key (default Left Shift).
While mounted:
Hold the Jump key (Space) while mounted to charge a jump, then release to leap. Unlike a horse, you can jump again immediately while airborne — unlimited times — making vertical traversal effortless.
If your hen is tamed, unsaddled, has an empty inventory, and is not sitting, it may perch on your shoulder when you walk close to it — just like a parrot.
The Saddle Hen treats the top surface of lava as solid ground. It will not sink into lava, and if it enters a lava column it is popped back to the surface immediately. This applies whether ridden or not. Both the hen and any passenger are continuously protected from fire while crossing lava.
The Saddle Hen is always immune to fire and lava damage. While you are riding it, fire is cleared from you each tick as well, so you can pass through fire and lava without taking damage.
Once tamed, the Saddle Hen will:
Stats compared to a tamed wolf:
| Stat | Tamed Wolf | Saddle Hen |
|---|---|---|
| Max Health | 40 HP | 120 HP |
| Attack Damage | 4 | 8 |
Feed your tamed hen any wolf food (most meats) to restore 2 HP per feeding, as long as it is not at full health.
Two tamed Saddle Hens can breed using the same foods that breed vanilla Chickens (seeds). Baby Saddle Hens are born already tamed and owned by the breeder.
Baby Saddle Hens grow naturally over time. Feed a baby a Golden Dandelion to instantly grow it to adulthood. Even as a baby, the hen can be saddled, mounted, and used with full abilities.
On death the hen drops its equipped Saddle (if directly equipped) and everything in its 27-slot inventory.
A tamed Saddle Hen will never despawn.
There are no crafting recipes. Obtain a Saddle Hen by:

This mod adds Guard Villagers — armored villager defenders who wear iron armor and wield iron swords to automatically fend off zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders and other hostile mobs while remaining friendly to players and other villagers. Guard Villagers naturally appear in villages to keep populations guarded and will occasionally show up in rare wilderness caravans of a few guards accompanied by 1 or 2 trader llamas, and you can right-click a Guard Villager to toggle Patrol, Follow, or Stay modes.

The Nanotech Inferno Pickaxe is a powerful mining tool that breaks blocks in a 2x2 area and automatically sets fire to all broken blocks. Simply mine any block as you would with a regular pickaxe, and it will instantly break a 2x2 pattern of blocks around your target while leaving flames behind. This enchanted pickaxe features incredibly fast mining speed and high attack damage, making it perfect for quickly clearing large areas or creating dramatic mining tunnels filled with fire.

Adds a bondable Oni maid guardian companion that you can give items to by clicking, and she visibly holds and equips the item in her hand. Gifted weapons are now actually used in battle with weapon-style effects — swords shove enemies back, tridents shove and also hamper foes' attacks, bows and crossbows slow targets, and pickaxes/shovels make enemies slower and weaker — while she keeps her normal abilities, extra damage, animations, and durability loss behavior.
Adds Xylos the Star-Sleeper, a floating celestial boss with a soft glowing cyan body, constellation markings, galaxy-like eyes and a magical starfield face that hovers and fights players and hostile mobs, teleporting unpredictably, manipulating gravity to pull or push foes, calling down lightning that can inflict Wither, and resisting fire. Xylos summons persistent phantoms that do not burn in daylight to aid it in battle, but it can only maintain up to three active phantoms at a time. If defeated it spawns an enraged Xylos Revenge that aggressively teleports to and focuses on players, slows enemies on hit, plunges the sky into a dark storm until vanquished, ignores damage from other mobs, punishes attackers with lightning, and can drop rare loot including a special music disc.
