Ruby Emerald Block
Quickstart
- Gather 8 emeralds and 1 redstone dust.
- Craft them at a crafting table to get a Ruby Emerald Block.
- Place it anywhere in the world as a decorative building block.
- Mine it with any tool (or your fist) to get it back — it always drops itself.
Overview
Ruby Emerald Block is a decorative building block that combines the deep red look of a "ruby" with the sturdy, sparkling feel of emerald. It behaves like a standard full-size block: it can be placed, walked on, and mined, making it a great addition to builds that want a rich red accent stone alongside vanilla emerald and redstone aesthetics.
What It Adds
- Ruby Emerald Block — a full block found under the Construction category in the creative inventory and craftable in survival.
How To Use
- Place the block like any other building block by selecting it in your hotbar and using it on a surface.
- It has solid collision, so you can stand on it, build with it, and use it as a normal structural or decorative block.
- Breaking the block always drops one Ruby Emerald Block, so you can freely reposition it without losing materials.
- It takes a moderate amount of time to mine (similar to stone-tier blocks) and has explosion resistance comparable to sturdy building blocks, so it holds up well against most in-game explosions.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Ruby Emerald Block at a crafting table using emeralds surrounding a piece of redstone dust:

You can also find it in the Construction tab of the creative menu if you're playing in Creative mode.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Full solid block – has normal collision and selection boxes, so it interacts with movement, redstone components, and other blocks just like a typical building block.
- Light dampening – blocks light from passing through it, similar to other solid stone-type blocks, so it can be used to darken areas for mob spawning or ambiance.
- Reliable drops – no special tool is required to mine it, and it always yields itself when broken.
Progression And Strategy
Since it requires a solid investment of emeralds (a resource often used for villager trading), the Ruby Emerald Block works well as a display piece or a marker for wealth and effort in a build — a way to show off traded or mined emeralds in a decorative form rather than spending them. Use it for accent trim, banners of color in redstone-red and green builds, or paired with actual emerald blocks and redstone blocks for a themed structure.
