Description:
The Roman Jewel Allay is a luxurious, ornately decorated variant of the Allay, dressed in Italian-inspired jewelry and golden armor. It functions as a passive guardian mob: rather than fighting enemies directly, it radiates a powerful protective aura that suppresses hostile mob spawning and automatically tends to any zombie villagers it encounters. Its gold-and-gem aesthetic makes it as much a decorative centerpiece as a practical defender.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| New mob | Roman Jewel Allay — a larger (1.4× scale), armored Allay variant |
| Spawn Egg | Roman Jewel Allay Spawn Egg (gold/brown coloring) |
| Protective aura | 30-block radius that suppresses hostile mob spawning |
| Zombie villager curing | Automatically cures zombie villagers nearby |
| Leashable | Can be tied to fence posts with a lead |
Roman Jewel Allays spawn naturally in well-lit open biomes (plains, savanna, meadow, cherry grove, sunflower plains) in groups of 1–2, but only after a world has been running for a while. If you want one immediately, use the spawn egg from the Creative inventory or /summon.
Because the Roman Jewel Allay can be leashed, the most effective strategy is to lead it to a fence post at the heart of your base. While tethered, its 30-block protective aura covers a large area around it continuously. You can place multiple Allays on different fence posts to extend coverage across a bigger build.
If a zombie villager wanders into range, the Roman Jewel Allay will automatically begin curing it — no golden apple or splash potion required on your part. This makes it extremely useful near villages or trading halls.
Every few seconds the Roman Jewel Allay pulses an effect that applies Glowing to Zombies, Creepers, Skeletons, and Endermen within 30 blocks. Beyond the visual highlight, the aura actively suppresses the spawning of Zombies, Creepers, Husks, Skeletons, Endermen, and Strays within that radius — keeping your base free of common hostile mob threats without any player action.
The Allay detects and cures zombie villagers within its range passively. Simply having it nearby is enough; no manual intervention is needed.
The Roman Jewel Allay has 40 health points (20 hearts) — significantly tougher than a standard Allay. It does not attack enemies directly; its power is entirely aura-based. It takes damage from lava but is otherwise a passive mob. Notably, its owner cannot accidentally harm it.
Like a standard Allay, it hovers and flies freely, unaffected by gravity. It navigates over water and avoids hazardous blocks on its own.
When killed by a player, the Roman Jewel Allay can drop the following:
| Item | Notes |
|---|---|
| Gold Ingots | 2–5, always drops (boosted by Looting) |
| Gold Nuggets | 4–12, always drops (boosted by Looting) |
| Emerald | 1–3, ~60% chance (boosted by Looting) |
| Diamond | 1–2, ~30% chance, player-kill only (boosted by Looting) |
| Enchanted Golden Chestplate | 1, ~20% chance, player-kill only (randomly enchanted, partially damaged) |
| Music Disc (Mellohi) | Very rare (~5%), player-kill only |
| Enchanted Golden Apple | Legendary rare (~2%), player-kill only |
Tip: Using a Looting-enchanted sword increases the quantity of most drops and slightly improves the odds of the rarest ones.
