Description
You are an expert Minecraft addon developer with deep experience in Minecraft Education Edition, including behavior packs, resource packs, custom dimensions, custom entities, and boss mechanics. I need you to design and describe in full detail a new dimension addon for Minecraft Education Edition that I can build or that another developer can follow. The addon must include a fully original dimension with its own unique biome, terrain generation rules, and atmosphere. Within that dimension, create 10 distinct mobs, each with unique behaviors, drops, and spawn conditions, plus at least 3 mini-bosses and one final main boss with multi-stage mechanics. Also include custom blocks, items (such as weapons, armor, tools, and consumables), a progression system that requires players to defeat mini-bosses before unlocking the main boss, and any custom structures, ore types, or environmental hazards that make the dimension feel alive. Use only original concepts—do not reuse existing Minecraft mobs or blocks without modification. Present everything in a clear, structured format: dimension overview, biome details, list of all 10 mobs with stats and AI, mini-bosses with attack patterns and loot tables, the main boss with detailed phase breakdown, and a full crafting or progression tree. The result must be complete and ready for implementation, not a summary or outline.

Riftbound Realms
Quickstart
- Craft a Rift Compass with a compass and four amethyst shards:

- Use the compass and choose Enter The Echo Veil. Use it again inside the dimension and choose Return home to leave.
- Explore the Echo Veil for Echo Ore and Echo Shards. Craft a Veilblade and Veilbound armor to prepare for its encounters.
- While in the Echo Veil, sneak and use the compass to open the Veil Atlas. Challenge the Cairn Warden, Tide Matriarch, and Pale Cartographer. Defeat all three to unlock the Riftheart Sovereign challenge.
Overview
The Echo Veil is a custom dimension of rolling terrain, jagged ridges, and submerged shelves. Its regions are marked by distinct fog and named on your action bar as you travel:
- Shardsteppe: Rolling ground of Veil Soil, with Glass Shale beneath it.
- Fracture Ridge: High, sharply ridged terrain of Riftstone and Glass Shale.
- Drowned Shelf: Low terrain submerged beneath water, with Umbra Sand along its floor and shore.
The Echo Veil has its own ambient mob spawning. Common mobs do not spawn there on Peaceful difficulty.
What It Adds
- Blocks: Riftstone, Veil Soil, Glass Shale, Echo Ore, and Umbra Sand.
- Items and gear: Rift Compass, Echo Pick, Veilblade, Veil Salve, Veilbound armor, Echo Shards, and Warden Seals.
- Mobs: Ten common Echo Veil creatures, three wardens, and the Riftheart Sovereign.
- Progression: Use the Veil Atlas to challenge the wardens and unlock the final boss.
How To Use
Travel and the Veil Atlas
Use the Rift Compass to open the travel menu. Choose Enter The Echo Veil to travel there or Return home to leave.
While inside the dimension, sneak and use the compass to open the Veil Atlas. Choose one of the three wardens to start its encounter nearby. If that same boss is already within 48 blocks, another challenge will not start.
The Atlas tracks warden defeats for each player. Defeat all three wardens to challenge the Riftheart Sovereign; crafting or collecting Warden Seals is not a substitute for those victories.
Echo Veil mobs
Common mobs are chosen partly by the ground beneath them and their elevation. These are typical spawn areas, not guaranteed encounters:
| Mob | Where to look | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Shiverling | Rocky ground below Y=66 | 1–2 Echo Shards |
| Spindle Horror | Rocky ground below Y=66 | 1–2 Echo Shards |
| Silt Witch | Sometimes on rocky ground below Y=66 | Veil Salve and 1–2 Echo Shards |
| Brine Husk | Sometimes on rocky ground below Y=66; may also appear underwater over Umbra Sand | 1 Echo Shard |
| Rift Stalker | Rocky ground from Y=66 to 91 | 1–3 Echo Shards |
| Cinderback | Rocky or soil ground from Y=66 to 91 | 1–2 Echo Shards |
| Tide Ram | Soil ground from Y=66 to 91; can also appear on high rocky ground | 1 Echo Shard |
| Echo Mote | Possible from Y=66 upward | 1–3 Echo Shards |
| Glasswing | High ground above Y=91 | 1 Echo Shard |
| Glimmermoth | High ground above Y=91 | 1 Echo Shard |
Cinderbacks are skittish: nearby undead, or a player who is sprinting, riding, or has attacked them, can startle them. Brine Husks are amphibious and can climb; they burn in daylight and can transform into drowned if they remain underwater.
If you want to place creatures directly in Creative, spawn eggs are available for the mobs and bosses.
Warden and Sovereign encounters
Each warden drops a Warden Seal and 8 Echo Shards. The Riftheart Sovereign drops 32 Echo Shards and a Nether Star.
Bosses gain strength as their health falls: at about two-thirds health they enter stage 2, and at about one-third they enter stage 3. Their special attacks pulse more often in later stages. Stage transitions also grant wardens and the Sovereign a short defensive or offensive effect.
| Encounter | Attack to watch for |
|---|---|
| Cairn Warden | Hits players within 5 blocks and knocks them back; its damage increases in stage 3. |
| Tide Matriarch | Affects players within 12 blocks with damage and Slowness; damage and Slowness increase from stage 2. |
| Pale Cartographer | Affects players within 24 blocks with damage and Weakness; damage increases from stage 2. |
| Riftheart Sovereign | Damages players within 7 blocks, extending to 9 blocks in stage 3; damage rises with each stage. |
Keep moving to avoid staying in a boss’s attack area, and bring healing before starting an encounter.
Crafting And Obtaining
Echo Ore generates in the Echo Veil and drops 2–4 Echo Shards. Common mobs also drop shards, making them the main material for the dimension’s gear. Breaking Riftstone, Veil Soil, Glass Shale, or Umbra Sand can yield the corresponding block.
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Echo Pick | |
| Veilblade | |
| Veil Salve (makes 2) | |
| Veilbound Helm | |
| Veilbound Chestplate | |
| Veilbound Leggings | |
| Veilbound Boots |
The Echo Pick is a pickaxe with 960 durability and 5 attack damage. The Veilblade has 8 attack damage and 760 durability. Veilbound armor pieces provide 3 protection for the helm, 7 for the chestplate, 6 for the leggings, and 3 for the boots.
Abilities And Mechanics
Use a Veil Salve to gain Regeneration II for 5 seconds and Absorption for 8 seconds. Each craft makes two salves.
The Rift Compass is the travel item as well as the Veil Atlas trigger: use it normally for travel, or sneak and use it inside the Echo Veil to open the Atlas.
Progression And Strategy
- Gather Echo Shards from Echo Ore and common mobs.
- Craft a Veilblade, Veilbound armor, and Veil Salves before challenging a warden.
- Use the Veil Atlas to defeat all three wardens. Their attacks have different ranges, so watch your distance and keep moving.
- Once all three defeats are recorded, use the Atlas to challenge the Riftheart Sovereign. Prepare for more frequent attacks as its health drops.
