Description
A pale watcher stalks the night, hunting anyone who dares look its way.
Mod Wiki
Pale Nightstalker
Quickstart
- In Creative mode, search the inventory for Pale Nightstalker Spawn Egg and use it on open ground with plenty of headroom—the Nightstalker is nearly six blocks tall.
- Watch from a distance. Looking directly at it can start its hunt; getting within 10 blocks also makes it hunt, even if you have not looked at it.
- If it vanishes right after spawning, try again: each spawn has a 40% chance to persist.
With cheats enabled, you can also try /summon com_pale_nightstalker_bf66elix:mycustom (this is subject to the same chance to vanish).
Overview
The Pale Nightstalker is a tall, hostile Overworld mob that stalks players and becomes aggressive when noticed. It can pursue players from far away, and its close-range strike is extremely dangerous.
What It Adds
- Pale Nightstalker: a solitary mob that appears in dark Overworld surface conditions.
- Pale Nightstalker Spawn Egg: a Creative-mode way to spawn it.
How To Use
Natural spawns occur alone on the Overworld surface in darkness (light level 7 or lower). The Nightstalker despawns in daylight.
While it is nearby, other mob entities within roughly 100 blocks are removed, including mobs that try to spawn in that area. Keep it away from mob farms and places where you want other mobs to remain.
Abilities And Mechanics
| Trait | Details |
|---|---|
| Health | 40 points (20 hearts) |
| Height | About 5.8 blocks |
| Hunt trigger | Looking at it can trigger a hunt; entering its 10-block vicinity also triggers one |
| Pursuit | It can target players up to 128 blocks away, even without a clear view |
| Attack | At close range, with a clear line of sight, it performs a devastating lunge |
| Hunt ends | It returns to stalking after no player is within 128 blocks for 8 seconds |
If you kill it, it may drop 0–2 rotten flesh. Player kills can also yield a bone or, rarely, a phantom membrane; Looting can affect these drops.
Progression And Strategy
Avoid looking directly at it, but do not rely on that alone: getting within 10 blocks starts the hunt regardless. Keep your distance and use ranged attacks rather than attempting to fight its lunge at close range. To make it stop hunting, get beyond its pursuit range and keep players away from it for 8 seconds.
