Description:
The Ore Finder Pearl is a utility pearl that, when right‑clicked in the Overworld, opens a menu to select from Overworld ores and scans up to an 80‑chunk radius before teleporting you to the nearest match, creating a compact 3x3 landing area up to head height while preserving ore blocks; it only works in the Overworld and the search is canceled if you leave the world or dimension before it completes. If a search is already active, using the pearl again opens a cancel menu with a Cancel Current Search button (closing the menu will let the search continue), and the start message now reminds you that you can use the pearl again to cancel an ongoing search.

Overworld Orefinder Pearl
Quickstart
- Craft the Overworld Orefinder Pearl at a Crafting Table (recipe unlocks when you have an Ender Pearl in your inventory):
- Make sure you are standing in the Overworld — the pearl does not work in the Nether or End.
- Right-click (use) the pearl to open the ore selection menu.
- Pick any ore from the list. The pearl begins scanning outward from your position.
- When the nearest ore is found, you are automatically teleported to it. A 3×3 area is cleared around the landing spot so you arrive safely.
Overview
The Overworld Orefinder Pearl is a single-use-style utility item that saves you from hours of strip-mining. Hold it and activate it to search up to an 80-chunk radius around your current position for any Overworld ore of your choice, then teleport you directly to the closest deposit.
What It Adds
| Item | Rarity | Stack Size |
|---|
| Overworld Orefinder Pearl | Rare (enchanted glint) | 1 |
How To Use
Starting a Search
- Right-click the pearl while standing in the Overworld.
- An Ore Finder Pearl menu appears listing all searchable Overworld ores.
- Select the ore you want. A confirmation message tells you the search has started and reminds you how to cancel if needed.
- The scan spreads outward chunk by chunk (up to 80 chunks / ~1,280 blocks) without freezing the game. Periodic progress messages keep you informed.
- Once the nearest match is found, you are teleported to it. Ore blocks at the destination are never removed — only the surrounding space is cleared to form a safe 3×3 landing area up to head height.
Canceling an Active Search
- If a search is already running and you right-click the pearl again, a different menu appears showing what ore is currently being searched for.
- Press Cancel Current Search to stop the scan immediately.
- Closing the cancel menu without pressing the button lets the search continue normally.
Limitations
- Overworld only. Using the pearl in the Nether or End shows an error and does nothing.
- If you leave the world or switch dimensions while a search is running, the search is automatically canceled.
- The pearl has a short 3-second cooldown between uses.
Crafting And Obtaining
The pearl is crafted at a Crafting Table. The recipe becomes available once you hold an Ender Pearl.
All nine crafting slots are used, combining raw ores, gems, and an Ender Pearl at the centre.

| Stack size | 1 (cannot stack) |
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: Craft the pearl as soon as you have enough materials. Use it to instantly locate diamond or emerald deposits instead of caving for hours.
- Mid/late game: Use it to hunt for specific ores you're running low on without wasting time on ores you already have in abundance.
- Cancel wisely: If you realize you selected the wrong ore, right-click the pearl immediately to cancel and start a new search for the correct one.
- Stay in the Overworld: Travel to the Nether or End only after your search completes, otherwise the search is lost and you'll need to start over.
- Because the pearl does not consume itself, keep it in your hotbar as a permanent exploration tool.
