Verity Knows All

Quickstart

1. After you spawn into a world, look nearby: Verity’s Box appears on clear ground, and you receive a Flashlight.
2. Interact with the box to release Verity. Leave some open space beside it so he can appear.
3. Interact with Verity and choose Talk to Verity. Try asking who he is, what day it is, or what he remembers.
4. Choose Pick up Verity™ in the same menu to carry him. Use the Verity item to place him on clear ground in front of you.
5. Pay attention to Verity’s warning: something is coming. Prepare for a fight before three more in-game days pass.

Overview

Verity Knows All pairs a talkative yellow companion with a timed monster encounter. Chat with Verity to learn what he remembers and get ominous clues; later, face the creature he warns you about.

What It Adds

• Verity: A placeable, damage-immune companion you can talk to, pick up, and carry.
• Verity’s Box: A box that releases Verity when interacted with.
• Flashlight: A placeable fixture that forms an assembly facing the direction you place it.
• Verity’s Monster: A persistent pursuer that arrives as the story progresses.

How To Use

Talk to Verity

Interact with Verity and select Talk to Verity to open the message field. Try questions such as:

• “Who are you?” or “What is my name?”
• “What do you remember?” or “What did I say?”
• “What day is it?”
• “Where am I?” or “What are my coordinates?”
• “What is it?” or “Is it something bad?”

Verity responds to these kinds of prompts and remembers recent conversation messages for each player. Other messages get a general reply, so he won’t answer every question as a detailed world guide.

Carry and place Verity

Use the Pick up Verity™ option in his interaction menu. Then use the Verity item to place him on nearby clear ground. Interact with him again whenever you want to talk or pick him up.

Place the Flashlight

Use the Flashlight item to place its fixture. It assembles facing the direction you place it.

Crafting And Obtaining

You receive one Flashlight when you first spawn. To craft another, use a crafting table and arrange an ender pearl, ender eye, and stick in a vertical line, in that order:

Verity’s Box appears near your initial spawn point. Mining the box drops it, so you can place it again and interact with it to release Verity.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Verity remembers: He can recall recent conversation messages and answer simple questions about your name, the day, and your approximate coordinates.
• The warning starts the countdown: After one in-game day, Verity warns that something is coming in three days. After three more in-game days, the monster arrives.
• The monster is dangerous: It has 40 health, pursues players, and deals 10 damage when close enough to attack. It can break through some common blocks while chasing.
• The monster can be hurt by hazards: Water and lava damage it. Defeating it may drop an ender pearl; killing it also awards experience.

Progression And Strategy

Use the warning period to gather supplies and prepare for combat. The monster can catch up through some walls, so don’t count on common stone, dirt, wood, or glass as a lasting barrier. Keep moving, bring a way to deal damage, and use water or lava to wear it down.
