Mountainfire Colossus

Quickstart

• In Creative: Find the Mountainfire Colossus Spawn Egg in your inventory and use it on the ground. With cheats enabled, you can also run /summon com_mountainfire_colossus_mjy3fv6g:mycustom.
• In Survival: Search surface mountain biomes after dark. The Colossus spawns alone in low light.
• Fight it in an open area, well away from builds: its stomp can destroy a wide area of blocks. Keep your distance, use cover to break its line of sight, and watch for its lava spit.

Overview

The Mountainfire Colossus is a hostile boss with 500 health and a boss health bar. It is enormous, highly resistant to knockback, and immune to fire. It spots players from a distance and pursues those it can see.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Stomp: When close, it slams the ground, dealing 28 base damage to nearby players and destroying ordinary blocks around its feet. Bedrock, barriers, command blocks, and structure blocks are spared.
• Lava spit: At range, it targets a visible player and deals 12 base fire damage, setting them alight for 4 seconds. Solid blocks can block its line of sight.
• Both attacks have a wind-up. Use that moment to move out of reach or behind cover. Armor and other damage reduction can affect the damage you take.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the Colossus or its spawn egg. Find the mob in low-light surface mountain biomes, or use its spawn egg or summon command to bring it into a world.

Defeating it drops 2–5 magma cream and 2–5 coal. A player kill also has a chance to yield 1–3 obsidian; Looting can improve the obsidian drop.

Progression And Strategy

Prepare for both close- and long-range attacks before approaching. Keep moving when it winds up a stomp, and use solid cover to avoid its lava spit. Because the stomp can clear blocks around the Colossus, avoid fighting it near structures or valuable terrain.
