Quickstart

• In Creative, search for Midnight Grin Stalker Spawn Egg and use it on the ground. You can also summon one with /summon com_midnight_grin_stalker_4qkgex6k:mycustom.
• To encounter one naturally, explore low-light surface areas.
• For its jumpscare, let it get within about 9 blocks, keep a clear line of sight, and look toward it. The scare happens automatically; there’s no button to press.

Overview

The Midnight Grin Stalker is a hostile, black-skinned mob that hunts players. It can watch from the dark, rush in, and attack at close range.

What It Adds

It has some resistance to knockback, so don’t rely on pushing it away to keep your distance.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Jumpscare: When a visible player within about 9 blocks looks toward it, the Stalker lunges. The scare briefly inflicts Blindness and Slowness II. Each Stalker can trigger this scare about once every 20 seconds.
• Close attack: At melee range, it attacks and can briefly slow its target.
• Pursuit: It seeks out players and can move quickly while closing the gap.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Stalker has no crafting recipe. In Creative, obtain it with its spawn egg; otherwise, look for it spawning alone on low-light surfaces. Its spawn condition allows brightness up to 7, adjusted for weather.

Drops And Strategy

When killed by a player, it drops 1–3 rotten flesh. Bones (1–2) have a 45% base chance to drop, and an echo shard has a 3% base chance; Looting can improve the chances.

Keep your distance when possible, and break line of sight to avoid its jumpscare trigger. If you choose to fight, be ready for its close-range attacks and knockback resistance.
