Mod Wiki
Golden Baked Potatoes
Quickstart
- Bake a potato in a furnace/smoker to get a regular Baked Potato.
- Surround it with gold nuggets in a crafting grid to make a Golden Baked Potato.
- Surround it with iron nuggets instead to make an Iron Baked Potato.
- Eat one! Each gives a different buff, so pick whichever suits your moment.
- Keep an eye out for Master-level Farmer villagers — they occasionally sell Golden Baked Potatoes for emeralds.
Overview
Golden Baked Potatoes turns the humble baked potato into two upgraded snacks by wrapping it in precious metal nuggets. Both variants are filling foods with their own special effects, and obtaining each one unlocks a dedicated advancement.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Golden Baked Potato | A baked potato reinforced with gold nuggets. A hearty, restorative meal. |
| Iron Baked Potato | A baked potato reinforced with iron nuggets. A "little salty" snack with a springy kick. |
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft either potato by surrounding a Baked Potato with 8 nuggets of the matching metal in a 3x3 crafting grid.

Golden Baked Potatoes can also occasionally be purchased from expert (Master-level) Farmer villagers in exchange for emeralds.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Golden Baked Potato: Restores a solid amount of hunger and saturation, and grants brief Regeneration and a longer Resistance effect when eaten — great for recovering after a tough fight.
- Iron Baked Potato: Also fills you up nicely and grants a long-lasting Jump Boost effect, useful for exploring, parkour, or dodging attacks.
Both items behave like normal food — right-click (or use the eat control) to consume them.
Progression And Strategy
Eating each potato for the first time unlocks a matching advancement:
- "Maybe Graham Would Like This One..." — earned by obtaining a Golden Baked Potato.
- "It's a Little Salty" — earned by obtaining an Iron Baked Potato.
Keep a few of each on hand: the Golden Baked Potato is best saved for recovery moments thanks to its Regeneration and Resistance boost, while the Iron Baked Potato's Jump Boost makes it a handy travel or combat-mobility snack.
