Military Add-On

Quickstart

1. Try the nuclear bomb first. Craft a Menacing Nuclear Bomb from nine TNT, then place it in an isolated area. Break the placed bomb to arm it. A loud alarm plays during the 10-second fuse, so move well away before detonation.
2. Call an airstrike. Craft and hold Elytra Airstrike, face the area you want to bombard, and use the item. Several TNT bombing waves are dropped around the direction you are facing.
3. Deploy a fighter jet. Use a Massive Fighter Jet or Laser Fighter Jet placer on a block. You are seated in the jet automatically. Look to steer and use the vehicle action to drop TNT or fire lasers.
4. Prepare for combat. Craft a rifle, its matching ammunition, and a Bulletproof Riot Shield. Keep ammunition in your inventory or offhand while firing.
5. Find landmarks. Use an Aircraft Carrier Compass to locate the nearest carrier or an Underground Vault Compass to locate the nearest vault.

Warning: The bomb, airstrike, and fighter jets permanently damage terrain and can destroy bases, structures, and players. Test them far from anything you want to keep.

Overview

Military Add-On turns the world into a large-scale military sandbox. It includes firearms, ammunition, defensive equipment, fighter jets, airstrikes, nuclear destruction, military landmarks, a ruined wasteland dimension, and the dangerous Redeemer.

The main gameplay loop is:

• Explore or deploy military structures.
• Equip weapons and ammunition.
• Use vehicles and bombing tools against targets.
• Follow compasses to carriers and underground vaults.
• Build a diamond portal to enter the Wastelands.
• Use the Redeemer for a high-risk battle against nearby living creatures.

What It Adds

Weapons and equipment

• Elytra Airstrike — Calls repeated TNT bombing waves.
• Menacing Nuclear Bomb — Arms after placement and detonation, creating a huge fire-filled crater.
• Machine Gun — Fires rapid bursts of Fighter Bullets.
• Realistic Assault Rifle — Fires Assault Rifle Rounds.
• Modern Sniper Rifle — Fires Sniper Rifle Rounds with heavier hits.
• Bulletproof Riot Shield — Blocks incoming firearm projectiles while you sneak with it equipped.
• Redeemer — Opens a temporary battle in Redeemer's Void when used at very low health.
• Aircraft Carrier Compass — Points toward the nearest discovered aircraft carrier.
• Underground Vault Compass — Points toward the nearest discovered underground vault.

Many structures can appear as landmarks while exploring. Structure deployers are also available for placing them directly in the Overworld.

New environments

• The Wastelands — A dry, mostly level city ruin with wasteland terrain, ruined buildings, lootable chests, and story books.
• Redeemer's Void — A dark battle arena used by the Redeemer.

How To Use

Nuclear bomb

1. Craft a Menacing Nuclear Bomb.
2. Use it on a block to place the bomb.
3. Break the placed bomb to start the countdown.
4. Run away immediately when the alarm begins.

The fuse lasts 200 game ticks, or about 10 seconds. When it detonates, the bomb produces hundreds of fire-causing explosions, clears a massive spherical crater, and decorates the crater with magma, fire, and coal blocks. The crater has a minimum radius of roughly 80 blocks, so use a remote test site.

Elytra Airstrike

Hold Elytra Airstrike, aim toward the target, and use it. The strike sends TNT downward in repeated bombing waves. It is useful for flattening an enemy position or creating a large area of destruction without entering the target zone yourself.

Only one airstrike can be active at a time. Face the center of the area you want to hit before activating it.

Firearms

The rifles search your inventory and can also use ammunition from the offhand. The sniper rifle deals more damage per hit than the assault rifle. Keep spare ammunition nearby during extended fights.

Bulletproof Riot Shield

Equip the Bulletproof Riot Shield in your main hand or offhand. Hold the sneak control to block incoming firearm projectiles. The shield protects against rifle fire and does not wear down from normal blocking.

Fighter jets

Use a jet placer on a solid block to spawn the aircraft and mount it automatically. Look in the direction you want the jet to travel.

• Massive Fighter Jet: Use the vehicle action while seated to drop a TNT bombing pattern beneath the jet.
• Laser Fighter Jet: Use the vehicle action while seated to fire laser bolts forward.

The aircraft accelerate while piloted, so keep plenty of open space around the takeoff and landing area. Using the vehicle item while already riding activates the jet's primary action instead of placing another aircraft.

Military structures

Structure deployers work in the Overworld. Use one while facing the area where you want the structure. The structure is placed several blocks in front of you, so stand far enough away to give it room.

Available deployers include:

• Air Base Deployer

• Skyborne Fighter Jet Deployer

The aircraft carrier requires a suitable surface, while the skyborne fighter formation is placed above the player. Avoid deploying structures over existing builds.

Compasses

Use an Aircraft Carrier Compass to receive directional guidance toward the nearest discovered carrier. Use an Underground Vault Compass to locate the nearest discovered vault.

If no matching landmark has been discovered in the current dimension, the compass reports that no target is available yet. Explore more of the Overworld or deploy the corresponding structure directly.

Aircraft Carrier Guards

Aircraft carriers can contain Aircraft Carrier Guards. Guards are armed and hostile, so approach carriers with a shield and spare ammunition. The Aircraft Carrier Guard Spawn Egg lets you create a guard directly for combat tests or custom military scenes.

Crafting And Obtaining

The mod's recipes are crafted at a crafting table.

Navigation and ammunition

• Aircraft Carrier Compass — Eight gold ingots surrounding a compass.

• Fighter Bullets — Iron nuggets, gunpowder, and an iron ingot; produces 16 rounds.

• Laser Cells — Redstone, glowstone dust, and an iron ingot; produces 16 cells.

• Sniper Rifle Rounds — An iron ingot and copper ingot; produces 16 rounds.

• Assault Rifle Rounds — An iron ingot and gunpowder; produces 16 rounds.

• Underground Vault Compass — Eight iron ingots surrounding a compass.

Weapons and destructive tools

• Laser Fighter Jet — Diamonds, iron ingots, redstone, and a stick.

• Life Sized Fighter Jet Prop — Alternating iron ingots and gold ingots; place it as a large decorative aircraft prop.

• Machine Gun — Iron ingots, redstone, an iron nugget, and a stick.

• Menacing Nuclear Bomb — Nine TNT.

• Modern Sniper Rifle — Iron ingots, a spyglass, and redstone.

• Elytra Airstrike — TNT and Elytras.

• Realistic Assault Rifle — Iron ingots, redstone, and a stick.

• Bulletproof Riot Shield — An existing shield surrounded by iron ingots.

The remaining deployers, the Redeemer, the aircraft carrier guard spawn egg, and some vehicle-related items are available through the mod's item selection tools.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Wastelands portal

Build a rectangular frame from diamond blocks:

• Four blocks wide
• Five blocks tall
• A two-block-wide, three-block-tall hollow center

Use flint and steel on the frame to enter The Wastelands from the Overworld. Use flint and steel on a matching frame in the Wastelands to return.

The Wastelands contain dry ruined-city terrain. Search buildings for chests and lecterns. Chests can contain loot, while lecterns hold written records about the ruined city and its final days.

The Redeemer

The Redeemer activates only when the user is below five health and no other Redeemer session is active.

When used in the Overworld:

1. The user enters Redeemer's Void.
2. Living entities within 64 blocks are pulled into the Void as prisoners.
3. The user receives strong temporary resistance.
4. Prisoners are held in place, slowed, and affected by wither.
5. When all prisoners are gone, the user returns to the original location.

Use the Redeemer again while inside Redeemer's Void to end the session and return early. Leaving the Void by another means also ends the session and removes the prisoners, so enter only when you are ready to fight.

Military landmark generation

Military landmarks can be discovered during Overworld exploration. Depending on the area, you may encounter:

• An aircraft carrier in deep ocean areas
• A large airport
• An underground vault
• A fortified military base
• An air base
• A nuclear missile silo
• A formation of skyborne fighter jets

The landmarks are large and may occupy a wide area. Use a compass before traveling blindly, and bring combat equipment when approaching guarded locations.

Progression And Strategy

1. Begin with the assault rifle and shield. Assault Rifle Rounds are inexpensive, and the riot shield gives protection while approaching hostile guards.
2. Upgrade to the sniper rifle for distance. Use it to eliminate threats before entering bases, carriers, or vaults.
3. Explore with both compasses. They help locate the carrier and vault, which are useful destinations for military combat scenarios.
4. Deploy structures in a prepared world area. Leave a large empty zone around airports, bases, silos, and carriers so the generated structures do not overwrite important builds.
5. Use fighter jets for attacks from above. The Massive Fighter Jet is suited to TNT bombing runs, while the Laser Fighter Jet is suited to repeated ranged attacks.
6. Reserve the nuclear bomb for isolated locations. Its crater is far larger than a normal TNT blast and leaves fire and magma across the impact area.
7. Visit the Wastelands for atmosphere and exploration. Search ruined buildings, loot chests, and read the books found on lecterns.
8. Treat the Redeemer as an arena challenge. Activate it only with full preparation, since every nearby living creature may be transported into the battle.
