Quickstart

1. Craft a Diamond Seeker at a crafting table using .
2. Equip it in your main hand.
3. Explore underground areas while holding it. Nearby diamond ore is marked by sparkling particles.
4. Use the item while holding it to trigger an immediate scan. It also scans automatically while held.

The Diamond Seeker detects both regular Diamond Ore and Deepslate Diamond Ore.

Overview

Diamond Seeker is a utility item for locating nearby diamond ore. It does not mine the ore for you; instead, it places visual particle markers above detected ore blocks so you know where to dig.

How To Use

Hold the Diamond Seeker in your main hand while exploring.

It searches an area extending:

• 6 blocks horizontally from you
• 4 blocks vertically from you

When diamond ore is found, a sparkling marker appears at the ore’s location. The item checks automatically several times per second while held, so continue moving through caves and tunnels to search new areas.

You can also press the item’s Use control for an immediate scan. This is useful when you stop at a promising location or want to check an area before mining.

Each scan can mark up to 24 diamond ore blocks.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Diamond Seeker in a crafting table with one iron ingot, one gold ingot, one diamond, and one redstone. The recipe is shapeless, so the ingredients can be placed in any arrangement.

In Creative mode, the Diamond Seeker is available in the Equipment category.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The seeker only detects ore within its nearby search area.
• Both regular and deepslate diamond ore are detected.
• Markers appear as particles above the detected blocks.
• Holding the item is enough to keep scanning; using it performs an additional immediate scan.
• The Diamond Seeker has 36 durability and does not stack.

Progression And Strategy

Use the Diamond Seeker when entering unexplored caves, deep underground tunnels, or newly dug branches. Follow particle markers carefully, then mine around the marked area to expose the full ore vein.

Because the search area is limited, sweep through large caverns methodically. If no particles appear, move several blocks and let the automatic scan check the next area. Keep the item in your main hand while searching so detection continues.
